It looks like typical action shit. There's way too much stuff going on in the trailer and it gives me zero hope that they maintained the spirit of the original.

It looks like they rewrote the entire movie.. why bother keeping the name if you're going to rewrite it? Ah well, I'm a zombie movie fanatic, so I'll be seeing this regardless.

Here's a question that I'm sure some of you zombie experts will know.

(Please note this is a general review:)

Years ago I was watching Joe Bob Briggs on TNT and he said that the creaters of Night of the Living Dead got into this court battle over use of the name for future movies by each of them.

One got to use "Dead" in the title and use slow-moving zombies (Dawn/Day of the Dead). The other got to use "Living" in the title and use fast-moving zombies.

These zombies look fast and the title doesn't have "living." Was some agreement reached or was Joe Bob wrong?...

But.. they all use "Dead" in their titles... Dawn of the Dead, Day of the Dead, Return of the Living Dead, etc... I'm not so sure if that's true. I don't recall anything being said about it on the Return of the Living Dead DVD where there's an interview about how the movie came about.. and Return is the only other big zombie movie besides 28 Days Later where I can recall running zombies...

I believe you're talking about the Return of The Living Dead and Night of The Living Dead. I believe Return was made by people assiociated with Night and they had to use Return.

The Living thing may be true too, but not I know of.

NEVERMIND

One of the writers for Night intended on making Return as his own spinoff series, but someone else wrote the script and directed the movie before he could.

I can deal. I'm just thankful that we're getting ANY zombie movies at all these days... Either way, it can't be HALF AS BAD as House of the Dead... *shudder*

Romero got to keep "Dead" and the other guy, the producer i think, got "Living Dead".

But i don't think that that interferes whatsoever in the zombies being fast or slow. Just the name

Dawn of the Dead > NEW Dawn of the Dead

Ken Foree is a god and Ving is no Ken Foree no matter how much he wants to pretend he is. And I lost faith in this movie when they best part in the trailer was Sarah modeling like she was in a Victoria Secret catalog.

The remake basically slams the middle and start of Dawn with the ending of Day to produce "Hollywood's running out of ideas proof #105"

But at least they didn't go with the original plan of CGI zombies.

Actually, that wasn't Sarah, it was Kim Poirier [or Poirier-Lorenzetti] - she's uncredited as of yet, though.

If I had to pick between remakes of good zombie movies and no zombie movies, I'd gladly take no zombie movies.

So wait...I don't get to see Sarah in lingerie???

Screw it, now I'm not going.

Stupid studios and putting the wrong female in lingerie

*mumble mumble*

Yes, but she's not Sarah.

I'll catch Kim in lingerie in something else. I need more of a reason!

Now, if there is a scene where Kim and Sarah decide with the world ending that now is the perfect time to explore their lesbian desires....maybe I'll go to an early show.

But only if they BOTH model black lingerie first. I accept no other options!

That's what I mean -- thanks for saying what I could not.

That's what I thought I remember Joe Bob saying. And I can't possibly have been wrong when listening to a several-minute segment from 5+ years ago at 3 a.m...

If Hollywood must remake zombie movies, I wish they would pick one of the many crappy zombie films.

We need a big budget Zombie Lake!
