The One and Only Divisional Playoffs thread

Recommended Posts

Someone needs to be readying the Eagles Tombstone for that Playoff graveyard thread.

And at this point I'd like to talk about Homefield Advantage. It is way overated in the NFL Playoffs. Just ask Ravens, Rams, Chiefs and soon to be Eagles fans about it. Thank you.

Fucking A

If we get a Colts/Packers SB, then for the first time in my life, I will not watch

Why do you hate the Colts?

Don't get me wrong, I'd root for Indy all the way, first on principle and second because I do like Dungy, but on the other hand, I really don't like Mr. Awshucks... something about him rubs me the wrong way

IMO, the only teams that homefield advantage would help would be the Patriots, Packers and Bills, maybe Jets/Giants just for the weather.

Don't forget Denver. And the Rams, not because they are unbeatable at home, but because they can't do dick on the road.

The only big advantage those places will get you is if a warm weather team has to come and play in snow.

I don't think homefield was a big deal for the Pats yesterday...Tennessee had plenty of chances to win...but chose to be penalized instead.

That referee tumbling across the field and taking out an Eagle was great.

I'm an Eagles fan....but I like the Packers...man this is my day of being apathetic. When you like both teams in the games.

It isn't really overrated, just that St Louis, KC & Philly really did not enter the playoffs in that good a shape and ran into hot teams. It happens. One thing we have noticed this year, the hotter team has won more than not (Carolina twice, Green Bay, New England & Indianapolis). Only the two AFC Wild Card games have gone the other way thus far, and in one of those it was the home team that blew it (the Ravens choked).

You can't limp into the playoffs and expect to be successful. The Colts are an exception because they started their hot run in the playoffs, but they are certainly hot now. Momentum is extremely important.

Andy Reid looks to be firmly cementing his role as a "So Close Yet So Far" Coach

If Dungy wins the SB, Reid can have his spot

Homefield for the Rams didn't help yesterday. And I remember no one giving the Panthers a chance to win that game either.

If the Packers win, the Panthers will get Home Field advantage in the NFC Championship game, but I seriously doubt they can beat the Packers, even at home. The Packers have the whole "destined to win the Super Bowl" auora about them now.

If this game was in the VET, it would be 14-0 Eagles.

This place isn't the Vet, hell it's not even really Philly.

Too damn nice of a field to be scary to opponents. That and Philly fans have been turning on their team and QB pretty quick this season.

I don't believe in those whole 'destiny' thing (why would God care about a football game?), but if the teams believe it they might end up making it true regardless. The same thing with the curses in baseball. The Red Sox and Cubs expect to lose, so they do. Once the slightest thing goes wrong (like Bartman), they think they are cursed and completely crumble.

I always thought fate handled destiny and that fate was female? Anyways, it's a whole mental thing like if you believe so strongly that you're sick, you will become sick that sort of deal. Not the best analogy but it's all I could come up with at the moment.

Well this is still anybody's ball game.

I'm pulling for the Eagles. But if the Pack wins....eh....I won't mind. If the Pack wins though then I want them to take it all.
