Guest drdrainoscott Report post Posted January 10, 2004 Why is this show around in England? Is it a WWE run show? What is its purpose, and if it isn't WWE run, how is that legal?
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted January 10, 2004 Old episodes of Worldwide...basically, the show started off as old editions of WWF shows...may even have been WWWF to start, I remember seeing Buddy Rogers on one show. Anyway...after the Panda people got involved with the WWF issue, Vince wasn't prepared to blur out the WWF logos on every show. He may not even have been able to show them at all, I'm not sure. So he put WCW Worldwide in place...seeing as he owns all WCW footage. Anyway, for those interested...we're in mid-91, just after the hideous Great American Bash. Luger is champion. Simmons and Windham both want the belt. The World's Strongest Man is Bill Kazmier, who sucks. The Freebirds rule everything. And we've just had the debuts of the almighty WCW Patriots... ...AND OZ!!! So, yeah...basically, it's legal because Vince owns WCW footage, and it's purpose is probably to get more money from Sky...and to honor their contract I guess. Guest OnlyMe Report post Posted January 10, 2004 Vince can show old WWF footage, completely unblurred, as long as there's no scratch logo.

Yeah, that's why this doesn't make sense to me...Why not show old Superstar episodes or something? They'd have to clip any mention of the "WWF" . . . but they can air the phrase "World Wrestling Federation." It'd be too much of a pin in the ass to edit every "WWF" reference. Guest OnlyMe Report post Posted January 11, 2004 Are you sure? I'm convinced there's references to the WWF on either Bloodbath or the Flair Collection. But then again, on Bloodbath, they do censor it when WWF is spoken during HHH / Rock.

Guest ravman77 Report post Posted January 15, 2004 I know its already been said a thousand times before, but whoever thought Oz was a good idea was on SERIOUS hard drugs. Anyway, I couldnt live without my weekly fix of WCW Worldwide...cant be long now for Rude/Steamboat and the cool Austin/Windham fueds?
TheFranchise 0 Report post Posted January 16, 2004 The reason they are showing WCW Classics is because of the WWF court case, they couldn't air old WWF at this time so sky switched it to WCW - and never looked back.

k thx 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2004 For anybody who cares, I'm starting to do irregular re-caps of the shows for WDI. I did the week before last here.
King Cucaracha 0 Report post Posted January 17, 2004 Instead, I turn my attention to Eddie the fat smelly fan. about three or four people either side of him have appeared to have got bored of him and left. Either that or they think this match is as crap as I do and they've gone for a piss break. Eventually, one of Eddies mates comes back with some snacks, and Eddie proceeds to steal them all. Kudos! LMAO! Funny thing is, the last show was filmed in front of the same fans, so he was there again. Anywho...quick question. Which Armstrong brother was Badstreet again? Because he did an interview last week, and at times sounded just like Brian...but I didn't think it was him.

deancoles 0 Report post Posted January 23, 2004 There was a Rick Steiner squash today which was brutal,Steiner does a german suplex on the jobber and the poor jobber gets his head snapped on the middle and bottom ropes.Cactus Jack has showed up and watching Scott Hall as the Diamond Studd makes me wonder why wcw never cared about Razor Ramon being the same character with a different accent. What a fucking psycho!

What a fucking psycho! Scott Hall also threw a jobber on his head when they botched a Hiptoss. That was possibly the worst hiptoss ever. I mean...all Hall didn't even hook the guy's arm. Steiner is nuts. A month or so back, he and Scott were in a jobber squash...he DELIBERATELY missed two elbow drops which the jobber sold anyway, making him look pathetic. Guest ravman77 Report post Posted January 24, 2004 I cant believe WCW let Hall go to WWF so easily. He had the look, build and charisma for an upper-card push easily compared to some of the crap they were pushing at that point.

Ricky Morton vs. Brian Pillman in the finals. Talk about a dissapointing dream match. Guest ravman77 Report post Posted January 27, 2004 Olympic Hero - Are you UK based? If so, its on Sky Sports 1 every Thursday (misleadingly titled WWE Classics) at about 7.30am and 5.30pm. If you're on cable, you'll probably have SS1 and so should be able to see it.

Guest Mulatto Heat Report post Posted February 15, 2004 I just downloaded and watched a full episode (October 11, 1991) of WCW Worldwide, and all I can say is this: Anyone who can criticize or make fun of the promos of today's wrestlers haven't seen or need to be reminded of how they USED to do promos back then. Quite painful. I think the worst of the bunch was Rick Steiner's.
