the max Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 Windows keeps resetting its theme to "Windows Classic". I got home from work, and all of my program/folder windows were the "classic" grey, just like Windows 98. Problem is that I have XP, and happen to like the style, etc. I ran HiJack and SpyBot and nothing came up to be responsible. ALSO My speakers have decided to not work anymore. It came up with a nice error of "another program is using them", yet I don't have anything else open except WMP.
MrRant Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 I would try virus scan real quick and is there anything in the taskbar running that may be using the speakers?
the max Posted January 12, 2004 Author Report Posted January 12, 2004 nah, I fixed the speakers, I had accidentally unplugged them, as they were tangled with the mouse cord. I feel like an idiot now. Anywho, I ran AVG and EZArmor by eTrust, and both showed nothing. I just ran Spybot again, and got nothing.
MrRant Posted January 12, 2004 Report Posted January 12, 2004 Try this... Go to Start -> Control Panel-> Administrative Tools -> Services and make sure that the Theme service is set to Automatic and restart.
the max Posted January 13, 2004 Author Report Posted January 13, 2004 It's set at Automatic. And no, I didn't do a Windows Update.
MrRant Posted January 13, 2004 Report Posted January 13, 2004 What is the status? Stopped? Started? Starting?
