Guest rawmvp Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Rock is healthy and Austin wouldn't have to take any bumps, save his exit over the top rope. Same goes for Foley.
Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Rock - hollywood hype work still. No need to take another guy's spot Austin - too crippled and out of shape. No need to take another guys spot Foley - Retired/unrelated fueding. No need to take another guy's spot. Stick to LSD.
Austin3164life Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 They're better off. At least now the WWE can market the guys who are their true stars, instead of relying on old "star power".
TheFranchise Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Rock is healthy and Austin wouldn't have to take any bumps, save his exit over the top rope. Same goes for Foley. Why isn't Bret Hart in the rumble? and Warrior? Same goes for Iron Shiek...
spiny norman Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 I think while they do want to have Rock, Foley and Austin all return to the ring at some point or another, I think they'd prefer to have heavy promotion for it rather than a suprise entrant in the Rumble. Those three are of a pretty high calibre and are too big to be suddenly entered into the Rumble with little promotion. And if you mean promote them like they are for Billy Gunn, again I would put that as a bad idea because there could be no way for them to win an then it's essentially a waste because you can bring them back far more effectively at a later date.
Jack_Bauer Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 I don't think The Rock or Steve Austin in the Rumble would do ANY favours.
Guest Dynamite Kido Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Why should they be? None of them are full time members of the active roster.
Guest Salacious Crumb Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Why take an ACTUAL wrestler's spot?
k thx Posted January 20, 2004 Report Posted January 20, 2004 Plus, the PPV doesn't need a short spot from Austin, Rock or Foley to pop the buyrate. The rumbles itself will do that. Best save their return to the ring for an actual match at annother PPV.
