Spaceman Spiff Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 Just noticed this: go to "My Controls", then look on the left under "Personal Profile". There's a link to "change personal photo". There's a button at the bottom of your posts (in with the email, AIM, etc. buttons) for "mini profile" ( ), which is where the pic would show up. Is this disabled? I tried to put a pic in there (not of me), and it wouldn't let me. Is there a particular reason it is turned off? I'm sure it won't be a big deal, I was just wondering.
Guest DVD Spree Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 I think a personal pic in user profiles would be cool. As the thread in Geneal Chat has proved, there is great interest in seeing what users actually look like, and it's always cool to see how accurate your mental picture of a particular poster is (since most people's board identites revolve around avatars and clever signatures). Just my 2.
Spaceman Spiff Posted January 23, 2004 Author Report Posted January 23, 2004 Well, it doesn't show up in the regular profile, just the mini profile. Also, I'm sure most people would just treat it like a 2nd avatar. I know I wasn't looking to put my actual pic in there. But, yeah, whether people put their real pic in there or not, it'd be cool to have that option.
Guest Bottled Black Posted January 23, 2004 Report Posted January 23, 2004 I think it'd be cool if people put a pic in there since the majority of the posts in the GC thread are now the dreaded User Posted Image.
Hoff Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 For record, I tried both to upload a pic and to weblink a pic, and it was no-go.
Spaceman Spiff Posted January 28, 2004 Author Report Posted January 28, 2004 WDI has this capability, too. ::hint hint hint::
Hoff Posted January 28, 2004 Report Posted January 28, 2004 Hm,, I'll poke around and see what I can do, although it might be better to ask Josh.
