Phoenix Fury Legdrop 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2004 Actually made it on time this time.... Jaimy Coxxx over Eddie Venom (feet on the ropes) "The Tremendous" Emil Sitoci over CK3 BJ Whitmer over "Anarchist" Arik Cannon (Cannon was fighting for Chris Hero's honor since Hero got him a gig in IWA-MS; slightly teased a Whitmer/Fannin split; really good match) Petey Williams over Casanova (comedy spot where Petey locked in a waistlock and accidentally pulled a tube sock out of Casanova's tights) Daizee Haze over Ms. Chif (Wouldn't mind seeing Chif back regularly with IWA Mid-South) Matt Sydal over Delirious to retain the IWA-MS LW Title (Dragonrana finish; really freakin' good match; Delirious got a "Stem-Cell Research" chant going somehow; Bradley & Boz jumped them both post-match until the locker room cleared to take B'n'B out) JC Bailey over Nate Webb in an I Quit Match (Bradley, Boz, & Whitmer all interfered at the end; great false finish with JC telling Nate to say "I Quit" by actually saying it himself, but Nate hated JC too much for the match to end that way; JC got busted open hardway on an early Da Thang) TREMENDOUS fucking match, get the tape for this) Corp. Robinson & Steve Stone over Boz & Bradley in a Falls Count Anywhere match (pretty wild stuff; Corp. got busted open hardway; funny moment where Fannin got directly in the face of a fan who was heckling him all night for being fat, and told him to "bring it, motherfucker"; Sydal & Delirious interfered at the end) NOTES: Attendance looked to be about 60, sadly....Signed for Highland on April whenever: Matt Sydal vs. AJ Styles....Signed for Lafayette on Feb. 28: BJ Whitmer (w/ Jim Fannin) vs. Arik Cannon with Jim Fannin handcuffed to the winner of a fan raffle; "a big wrestling superstar" to appear; NWA Wildside talent not yet named; Matt Sydal & Delirious vs. Bradley & Boz in a TLC match, and "Spyder" Nate Webb vs. JC Bailey inside a steel cage, which, if tonight was any indication, should be fucking amazing. Slingshot Suplex 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2004 Heh ,you sound like me and my inability to get to any show on time. Anyway, if I didn't have a leaking water pump on my car, I was seriously considering making the 300 and something mile road trip for this show. Good to see the Gateway regulars doing more good stuff in IWA-MS. How much time did they gave Matt and Delirious? When I saw they were booked for this show,, I thought they might get a little more time and freedom to do some stuff with IWA-MS's reputation being ....less family oriented. Same with Daizee vs MsChif. Matt vs AJ.....I'm there. Hell, I might even go to next Lafayette. Now one more person knows the greatness of MsChif.
JustJoe2k5 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2004 I love IWA Mid-South and desperately want to see them be successful, but they really need to start doing something to keep their income at a positive. Either find new ways to advertise or look into new markets around the country because what they're doing now just isn't cutting it. With that out of the way it sounded like a great show, Bailey vs. Webb always delivers when there are stipulations, like their Tables, Ladders, and Chairs match, and Sydal vs. Delirious looked really good on paper, I'm guessing it looked really good in person as well. Hopefully, Styles will draw IWA a bigger crowd for their next show.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2004 Jamie Coxxx, guy's alright to watch but he's a dick. 60 people...I don't know what more they can do to bring people in. They run good shows but can't draw shit.

Guest PowerPB13 Report post Posted February 1, 2004 Great to see the GCW crew making a good impression elsewhere...and it's awesome to hear that Matt's getting the chance to work with A.J. I've watched MsChif and Daizee improve their craft over the past few years, and with all due respect to the other female wrestlers out there, I would put MsChif vs. Daizee up against practically ANY women's wrestling match in the U.S., and that includes WWE. If TNA wanted to do a women's division(might as well give Trinity SOMETHING to do), they'd do well to utilize MsChif and Daizee on a regular basis. -Patrick
Phoenix Fury Legdrop 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2004 Matt & Delirious got at least 20 minutes. I messed up their finish; the Dragonrana was a near-fall. The finish was a tremendous belly-to-belly Spanish Fly variation. Matt seems to be a tremendously nice guy, from the time I got to talk to him at the merchandise table. Ian blamed part of the attendance on him being in the hospital and therefore not being able to make fliers for the show.
Slingshot Suplex 0 Report post Posted February 1, 2004 Yeah Matt has been a friendly guy every time I've talked to him. That finish sounds like the move he won the title with a couple weeks ago.
