Henry Spencer 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2004 Dog Fashion Disco and Dimmu Borgir are fun, but I dislike the other bands.
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2004 Fucking yeah. Should be a fun enough show. There's one particular Fear Factory song (the "I've become (a tyrant)") I've always wanted to hear live.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2004 Dog Fashion Disco can not save all those bands.
Placebo Effect 0 Report post Posted February 6, 2004 Jesus Christ. The average price for these tickets is $30. If I paid for tickets, there's no way in hell I'd be up for paying more than half that.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted February 6, 2004 GayerKnot 04. Dimmu eats live. Chimaira sucks, Fear Factory is okayish live, and I've never heard Dog Fashion Disco but they sound like they suck.
Guest Mindless_Aggression Report post Posted February 6, 2004 AoO, you'd probably not mind Dog Fashion Disco. Kinda a metal take on Mr. Bungle, they hang off of Patton's nuts quite fiercely from a sound standpoint but they're fun anyways. Songs like Headless, Leper Friend, 9 to 5 At The Morgue, Pogo The Clown, Rapist Eyes and Magical Band of Fools are just a good time. Fear Factory may rot in hell, thank you. converge241 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 Fear Factory is one of the best bands ive ever seen live and ive seen thousands (been going to shows regularly since i was 13 and ill be 28 in apr. so it adds up quick) dont think im going to this tour though will wait till FF do their own tour even if its in smaller clubs (not a bad thing for them cause it sounds much better their best show was at a small club in RI Babyhead with Electric Hellfire Club sound was perfect)..its too bad this tour and the last tour have been opeing slots although opening for Slipknot is better than opening for alien ant farm IMO I liked half of slipknot's self titledand 2 songs on Iowa but heard they were atrocious live so have avoided them
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted February 9, 2004 Oh, so very very terrible unless you're 15 and JUST getting into them for those magical 2 weeks before they become intolerable. Dog Fashion Disco are Patton worshippers eh? That's a tall order, but I'll be nice to them and give them the benefit of the doubt. I effing love Bungle, but their brilliance was being completely sick, while managing to not get pigeonholed into metal, which these guys apparently didn't do. This ranks a 5.8 on my "I should get this cd pretty soon" scale. The difference in quality of bands for this Jager tour and the Slayer Jager tour is immense. Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted February 9, 2004 An elaboration on Slipknot being ghey live: They don't really do as much as you'd figure. All their videos, and promo imagery shits make them out like some maddening horrific circus, when the actuality is, the guitarists fuck up a lot, and the 3 or 4 superfluous members tussle like backyard wrestlers trying not to hurt each other while the reeking stench of puberty swirls its hormonal stink like a cyclone from the mosh pit. Honestly, take a pass.

Hm, on the first album, Dog Fashion Disco does somewhat fall into a few metal trappings, but songs like Vertigo Motel and 9 to 5 At The Morgue make for a very interesting and good time. The second album has everything from a song that is essentially all horns (Pogo The Clown) and a funk metal collision (Magical Band Of Fools) The Acid Memoirs, Deja Vu, all that stuff, it's a good time. Headless has one of the best fuckin riffs I've heard in awhile too. So yeah, they're not OH MY JESUS great but they put a lot of work into it and come out to like a 7 out of 10 overall. They're working out the metal shit with every album, so I'd say by album 4, we'll have a nice solid all around piece of work. Slipknot is a bunch of god damned idiots live and half the band doesn't even do anything. Horrible shit. But hey! One time the guy with the gas mask jumped off a speaker! WILD AND UNPREDICTABLE! Nevermortal 0 Report post Posted February 9, 2004 They best be giving out free Jager at these concerts.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted February 10, 2004 No, but they do have plenty for sale, and bimbos chucking Jager merch into the crowd, and this INCREDIBLY obnoxious guy who chugs a Jager bottle full of cola, and pretends it's Jager. I saw FOAM in this Jager bottle..So naturally, I'm yelling at him and shit..asking if the coca cola was a bit strong and all..and a few drunk dipshits who weren't close enough to see fizz bought it, and probably were inspired to buy more Jager. Why, if I could've bent down, I would've hit him with a shoe, but I was too busy licking Angela Gossow's sweat from my face.

Honestly, take a pass. on a related note...I saw Knot in May 00....it was crazy good. Sevendust mightve been the tighter band that night but Slipknot was everything I had heard. The guys literally beat the shit out of each other, they played very well for over an hour, great pyro, set themselves on fire, had the crowd going fucking nuts, and one guy whose '#' I forget did the biggest stagedive Ive ever seen off a legit 25+ feet amp system into the crowd. Incredible show! Of course this was nearly four years ago, and things might have definitly changed since then, these guys arent exactly young after all.
