Guest glennsoe Report post Posted February 7, 2004 During tonight's broadcast of Sports Byline, a popular sports talk show hosted by Ron Barr in America, Bret Hart made some very shocking comments that will be of interest to his fans everywhere. While discussing the current scene in pro wrestling, Bret Hart said he was open to "one last run" in the wrestling business. Whether or not this means he would make that run in the WWE or NWA-TNA, it certainly is great to hear nonetheless. The interview came across very much like he has already made a personal decision to make a comeback, and most people are speculating that his initial return could come in the form of an appearance at either Wrestlemania XX or Backlash in April. Bret did say however, that he is hoping to get back in the ring and be medically cleared to do so by July at the earliest, which is amazing news for Bret Hart fans everywhere. Until we receive more word on a possible comeback bid by "The Hitman", we are going to look at this recent development strictly as an "unconfirmed rumor". geniusMoment 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2004 This was the interview from years ago where he said he was looking forward to fighting Hulk Hogan and where he said the Crippler was the only wrestler who could tell a story anymore.

Highland 0 Report post Posted February 7, 2004 I don't want to see Bret in the ring, I want to see him at Mania as a tribute, but not in a return to action. The man can't take it.

Enigma 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2004 You know, I always thought it was fishy that Bret Hart didn't officially announce his retirement until a week or two after he was released from his WCW contract in October 2000. He looked pretty healthy at New Blood Rising.

Fökai 0 Report post Posted February 8, 2004 Official PW Retraction: Bret Hart Returning... Retraction -- Bret Hart Update 07 Feb 2004 This past Thursday night on Sports Byline.com, Ron Barr interviewed Bret Hart in what seemed to be a live setting. We have learned otherwise at this time. For anyone who read our story on Bret announcing his "return" to professional wrestling as an active competitor, we want to inform you at this time that Thursday's show, although being advertised as being a live show, was in fact a taped broadcast from over 2 years ago. Sports Byline.com never stated at anytime that the show was indeed a repeat broadcast, which has led to the misunderstanding that Bret was announcing his desire to return to the ring by the end of the summer. The show was advertised around the internet as a "live broadcast" and even posted the telephone number for fans to call in and talk to Bret. At this time, I wish to apologize to our readers and anyone who had read our story over this misunderstanding. We have contacted Sports Byline.com for a statement regarding this mishap, but have not received a reply as of yet. We regret any incovenience or misunderstanding this story has caused.
