Guest bravesfan Posted September 19, 2002 Report Posted September 19, 2002 None of the arcade emulators (MAME) I could find was Windows XP-compatible, (the .exe window would quickly open then close) anyone got a solution/link to a Arcade Emulator because I NEED TO PLAY WRESTLEFEST!
Guest kingkamala Posted September 19, 2002 Report Posted September 19, 2002 I HAD one, i can't remember where i got it though
Guest Renegade Posted September 21, 2002 Report Posted September 21, 2002 I'm pretty new to Arcade emulators, so does MAME play almost all arcade roms?
Guest razazteca Posted September 26, 2002 Report Posted September 26, 2002 Jaccinc ROMS I found this site the other day it has roms and emulators for the popular consoles and arcade systems and no MAME does not work for every arcade game as it has a unique appoach to the emulation scene. The major problem I have with MAME is that the emulator version must match the roms exactly. 4 example MAME 32 6.0 emulator will only work for the recent rom releases, it will not always play MAME 32 5.5 games. some of the popular arcade emulators are MAME and RAINE and then there are the capcom and SNK specific emulators.
Guest Downhome Posted September 29, 2002 Report Posted September 29, 2002 Can someone just post the links needed to play WrestleFest? I have never found it, ever...
Guest areacode212 Posted September 29, 2002 Report Posted September 29, 2002 You can find Wrestlefest (and some other wrestling game roms) here: http://w-player.com/games/arcade/
Guest Downhome Posted September 29, 2002 Report Posted September 29, 2002 You can find Wrestlefest (and some other wrestling game roms) here: http://w-player.com/games/arcade/ Thanks, but how can I PLAY it?
Guest razazteca Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 Arcade @ Home get one of the Arcade Emulators
Guest areacode212 Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 I'm pretty new to Arcade emulators, so does MAME play almost all arcade roms? It doesn't play all of them, but considering it lets you play over 1950 games, it's close enough. Plus, there are other emulators out there that may fill in some of the gaps. You won't be playing Tekken 4 on MAME anytime soon, but the inventory of most arcades up through the mid-to-late 90s (and even new stuff like Marvel vs. Capcom) is pretty much playable on your desktop. If you download MAME (from http://www.mame.net), it contains a text file listing all supported games.
Guest areacode212 Posted September 30, 2002 Report Posted September 30, 2002 None of the arcade emulators (MAME) I could find was Windows XP-compatible, (the .exe window would quickly open then close) anyone got a solution/link to a Arcade Emulator because I NEED TO PLAY WRESTLEFEST! I don't have much experience with XP. Doesn't it have a MS-DOS Prompt? You have to run it from the command line, not by double-clicking it from Explorer.
Guest GoldustandBooker4Life Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 I have a question.. I downloaded MAME32 Version .61, but now that the MAME site doesn't have a way to download the ROMs now.. I can't find anywhere to download games.. and when I finally found one, I downloaded the game into the roms folder, and extracted it, but MAME can't read it.. is there anything I can do?
Guest areacode212 Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 You don't have to extract anything from the zip file. Just stick the entire file in the roms folder, and MAME will extract the roms automatically when you play the game.
Guest GoldustandBooker4Life Posted October 1, 2002 Report Posted October 1, 2002 okay.. that didn't work the first time, but for some reason it's working now.. thanks a lot.. also, does nebody know where I can find MAME games now?
Guest areacode212 Posted October 2, 2002 Report Posted October 2, 2002 Just look through some of the links in this thread. I'm sure some of them must still be active. Also, you can try doing Google searches for the filenames of the zipped MAME roms, like "captcomm.zip" (Captain Commando) or "mvsc.zip" (Marvel vs. Capcom), or "xmcota.zip" (X-Men: Children of the Atom), or "gaunt2.zip" (Gauntlet II), etc...
Guest HollywoodSpikeJenkins Posted October 4, 2002 Report Posted October 4, 2002 Whats a good site to get good American GBA and Gameboy Roms that are AMERICAN
Guest razazteca Posted October 4, 2002 Report Posted October 4, 2002 well you can find GBA roms on any P2P network like Kazaa or WinMx the English roms usually have USA or ING or a European Union flag or British flag on it. try searching the Yahoo Geocities for roms www.gbxemu.com is good if you can get it to work but I think membership is needed now to dl roms
Guest areacode212 Posted October 4, 2002 Report Posted October 4, 2002 I usually go on IRC for GBA roms. Pick any of the big IRC networks (Dalnet, EFNet, whatever), and go to the #roms channel. Chances are, you'll come across someone with the latest games for your Game Boy Advance emulator.
Guest Ravenbomb Posted October 6, 2002 Report Posted October 6, 2002 which Fire Pro game is the best?
Guest razazteca Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 the Dreamcast one is a favorite by many the SNES Preminum X on is good also
Guest El Psycho Diablo Posted October 7, 2002 Report Posted October 7, 2002 I like Fire Pro G (PS) from what I've been able to play.
Guest areacode212 Posted October 9, 2002 Report Posted October 9, 2002 IMO, the DC one is the best one, with all the downloadable CAWs/moves/mods available. Runners-up are the two latest GBA ones (Final Fire Pro Wrestling (Japan), and Fire Pro Wrestling 2 (USA)), partly because they're the most up-to-date ones in terms of moves & wrestlers. The former has the cool MOR mode, and the latter has more wrestlers.
Guest Downhome Posted October 12, 2002 Report Posted October 12, 2002 Can someone please help me with Neo Geo emulators, roms, and how in the world to do it? Hell, if you have a fild with an emulator and roms alread installed in it, just send it over my way!
Guest Downhome Posted October 12, 2002 Report Posted October 12, 2002 Why can't I get Neo Geo to work, or fuck, ANY ARCADE EMULATOR PERIOD TO WORK!? Guest Downhome Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 Ok, can anyone give a site or something that has the LARGEST collection of NES ROMS, and another that has the LARGEST collection of SNES ROMS? If you can, I'd really love to have it. :-)
Guest razazteca Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 Cherry Roms this used to be the place for SNES but membership is needed now, it is a good site for news and emulators.
Guest Renegade Posted October 19, 2002 Report Posted October 19, 2002 edgeemu.com should have alot of them. Does know where i could find a english rom of "Lufia and the Fortress of Doom" for the snes? I really cant find it anywhere.
