Who is supposed to win Guerrero/Angle at WM

Recommended Posts

Guest Ray

If Eddy wins the title at NWO, then WM is too early to lose it. Eddy will also be the face, and you need some faces to go over at WM (heel Brock will beat Goldberg, obviously). Eddy should win.

Ray, hater of short title reigns...

There is no reason for Angle to win, and Eddy's first reign on top won't be a transitional one. In my book, I see no way that Eddy won't retain.

Yeah is there any point it putting it back on Kurt? We know what he can do as a face and as a heel, and neither has translated to huge money as a title holder. Let Eddie run with it for a while and see if he can draw.

It hasn't stopped them before. But hopefully they will book his run correctly.

Hey give the man some credit. He was the champ during the best month in WWE history in terms of live attendance. In January 2001 the WWE sold out every house show and the main event in those shows was either Kurt vs Austin or Kurt vs. The Rock.

Actually, Angle v Jericho headlined most of the shows that month, making it all the more impressive.

I actually don't think that Brock Lesnar will be the heel in his match with Goldberg. Let us not forget that this years Wrestlemania is at MSG and a lot of people there will be anti-Goldberg.

Guerrero will obviously keep the title. HBK will probably win the other one.

Yeah, but that was in December. Now a lot of them probably know that "A" Goldberg isn't winning and "B" Goldberg probably won't be around after the show.

Doesn't matter. Technically, Goldberg's the face and Lesnar's the heel.

Guerrero will beat Angle. Angle isn't HHH.

That's like saying it didn't matter at Wrestlemania 18 with Hulk Hogan & The Rock. It definitely mattered because the wrestlers had to switch roles mid-match.

I don't think Goldberg is talented enough to do such a thing. This is going to be a disaster.

Well...look at SummerSlam with Brock/Rock.

Brock didn't do any switching despite clearly being the crowd favorite...but Rock started heeling it up a bit.

Don't just lay it on Goldberg's feet if it goes awry...Brock hasn't proven to be able to do it either.

Yeah, I know. That just adds to the disaster. Although, when I think about it, Goldberg will try to turn heel because he thinks he knows what he is doing. If the past is any indication, Brock will stay heel. So, now we have too monsters, both acting heel, going at it.

Who gets the offense?

It's going to be ugly, folks. As Jim Ross would say, it's going to be a slobberknocker mixed in with some smashmouth style.

I also see the WWE Championship being retained, but the World Heavyweight Title changing hands, opposite from WM last year.

I thought this was supposed to be a 2 minute squash with Brock kicking out of the Jackhammer and hitting THREE straight F5's for the easy win.

I thought the WHOLE purpose to goldberg even being HIRED by WWE was for him to get squashed at Mania.

Brock and Goldberg, hopefully will have a plan for all scenarios...Goldberg CAN NOT work as a Heel(hardly can as a face either but this isnt the place for that)...Has Lesnar matured enough that he can changed the pace of a match by a crowd's reaction, SummerSlam 2002 was a LONG time ago...

Will Goldberg even be there past WrestleMania?

Anyways, I assume they're going to run with Eddy/Angle longer, and they should start trying to capitalize on Cena eventually. What other heel possibilities will there be?

His contract expires March 15th 2004.

which adds to my theory vince hired him PURELY to job him on the biggest stage in the world...

Here's a interesting kicker though...What if Goldberg agrees to an paycut of let's say $225,000 but only if he goes over Brock at Mania...Does Vince keep a somewhat profitable machine walk away and fill his ego or what?

I don't know, but Lesnar is going to have HUGE momentum if (when) he beats Goldberg (likely) clean in the middle of the ring at one of the biggest wrestling stages ever. It would be a damn shame to waste it in the post-Mania weeks. I wonder if they're going to the South soon after Mania? He'd be over huge as a heel since Goldberg is a hero to Southern wrestling fans.

I'm seeing Eddy eventually dropping the title to Lesnar, though I'd rather it be Angle. But a big Lesnar job to Cena could launch him at that point.

I'd avoid another Lesnar/Cena match for a long time.

Who knows if a fourth shitfest in less than two years will hurt them both?

If GB starts making demands about wanting to win at WM, sayonara. No way do I let him dictate booking to me if I'm Vince. Who does he think he is? HHH?

That said it makes no sense to totally job him out in a squash either. There's always the chance that he might re-up at some point so I'd have him job but in a competitive match. If Brock squashed Goldberg it would look like total bullshit and no one would buy it. If Brock beats him in a tough match (cleanly) then it'd be all the more impressive. There shouldn't ever be a squash in a main event match at WM.

Eddy wins, and retains. Kurt seems to have no real direction at this moment (besides becoming #1 Contender), which is a bad thing. I'm not sure if he retires soon or not, but Eddy should have a lengthy reign (Hello, Latino audience).

And on Brock/Cena, they should NOT wrestle for a long time. Maybe a few heated segments or run-ins with each other, but keep them away until Cena improves more and until they actually mesh. They're styles don't mesh well AT ALL.

Would it be fair to say next month's Goldberg / Lesnar match will be the Undertaker / Sid match of our time?
