cabbageboy Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 I was glad to get the DVD of The Adventures of Ford Fairlane recently. It was odd because I don't remember it even coming out, that's how low key the release was. I went to both Best Buy and Suncoast and neither even had it, saying that it wasn't being stocked due to the film's content if you can believe that. I've never understood the bashing this film took when it came out. I suppose since it came out in 1990 the whole PC movement started and Dice was screwed, but if this came out today it would make quite a bit of money. What do you guys think of Ford Fairlane?
Guest Ahhee Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 FF is easily one of my all time favorites. Where did you get it at? I couldn't find it at Best Buy myself. I took a trip to Hollywood several years ago and for kicks looked for an "Art Mooney" star on the walk of fame. The star at the foot of the Capitol Records building I think was Garth Brooks, perhaps this was doctored up for the film?
razazteca Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 It is in the Walmart cheap bin for $5.50.
cabbageboy Posted February 18, 2004 Author Report Posted February 18, 2004 I actually got it off amazon.com, never occurred to me to check at Walmart. At the time this movie was shot (1989/90) I would doubt that Garth would have had a star on the walk of fame, since he was just getting big about that time.
Art Sandusky Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 I would love to own a Fairlane one day, just because it'd be less recognizable than another 60s car, being mid-sized yet not obviously one of the big names (GTO, Mustang, Camaro, etc). Oh, it's a film too...
WrestlingDeacon Posted February 18, 2004 Report Posted February 18, 2004 I got it from the Wal-Mart cheapie bin too. I have't watched it yet and it's been years since I've seen it.
