Is there anybody around St. Louis?

Recommended Posts

few people on the ESPN boards(both Boston and St. Louis) are saying a St. Louis sports radio is saying a deal between St. Louis and Boston is being spoken of where Edgar Renteria and Albert Pujols would be sent to Boston for Nomar, Scott Williamson, another pitcher(most likely Kim), and prospects.

I'm just wondering if there's anybody here near St. Louis who can confirm this as I trust people here more.

Oh, I know that....but sometimes they do get nuggets correct. Like the Ramon Hernandez & T-Long to San Diego deal, Schilling to the Sox, Williamson to the Sox, and Colon to the Expos.

I also don't understand why people in St. Louis would be discussing it since if I'm a Cards fan I want Pujols.

Because Puljos is asking for a ridiculous amount of money in his first year of arbitration.

He's the Cardinals' franchise player though. You lock him up.

I don't think I want the deal to happen because it takes a few key components out of our pitching staff and prospects for more offense when we have a nice offense.

Yes, you lock him up - I am not questioning that, but like I said, the amount of money he is asking for is ridiculous, and I don't believe the Cardinals can afford it without putting the rest of the teams needs in jeopardy, but we'll see.

If they're considering it.. they're stupid

but.. just for fun.. let's put 2003 Pujols in Fenway Park!

here are the changes..

23 points of BA, 12 more runs, 14 more hits, 3 doubles, 12 home runs, 2 walks, and 3 less strikeouts

and here are the changes with 2003 Pujols in Coors Field

30 points of BA, 25 runs, 25 hits, 1 double, 15 home runs, 3 less walks, 2 less strikeouts

and Pujols in Kauffman Stadium (damn team.. DRAFT THE KID FROM THE AREA.. nevermind)

24 points, 29 runs, 20 hits, 2 doubles, 14 homers, 3 more walks, 4 less strikeouts

Hey kids.. remember.. Pujols hit .388 in a park that favors pitchers. Scary, eh?

Never happening.

Even Glen Ordway has finally jumped on my bandwagon in the belief that letting Nomar walk after this year isn't that bad, since they could use that 15 mil he rejected to go after another player that puts up the same, if not better offense than Nomar. Replace Nomar with a good glove at SS and noone will notice the difference.

I wouldn't mind seeing Nomar walk and the Red Sox go after Edgar Renteria who's a FA next year as well.

Alot of contracts come off the books next year. Here's my replacements with the name of who's currently here that has their contract up being listed first

Pedro - Kerry Wood or Matt Morris

Nomar - Edgar Renteria

Then if they can trade Johnny Damon grab Carlos Beltran.

We don't need Pujols right now since it will fuck up our pitching.

I wouldn't mind having Renteria replace Nomar but I wouldn't let Pedro walk. The guy's too dominant to just let go free and Wood allows way too many walks(80+ throughout his career including 100 last year) and gives up a fair share of HR's. I wouldn't mind having Morris but there's no way that he could replace Pedro's talent.

Yeah that trade would never happen, because the Cards are trying to hard to fit Pujols, Renteria & Morris into their future plans. They wouldn't get rid of two.

And Pujols numbers are too good and he's too young to even think about letting him go.
