So, Why did Angle turn on Eddie?

Recommended Posts

Y2Jerk's explanation makes sense up to a point. That point being if you explained all that out on T.V, people wouldn't really take to bad-ass Kurt because he's just some guy who tried to do the right thing, but didn't succeed so he got stressed.

Some people would either feel sorry for him for doing the right thing and not succeeding, or for feeling stressed about not succeeding. It's not uncommon to feel that way in the real world, so people will empaphise with Kurt to a certain extent.

We want bad ass Kurt. The Kurt AS has been talking about for months. The Kurt that beats family man Kurt hands down. 'Stressed' Kurt doesn't really cut it for a Wrestlemania feud with a recently turned heel. It'd be great if the WWE planned to hot-shot Angle back to face in a few months.

I still think the 'E' will go with the obvious solution of 'Angle was paid off by Heyman' or, seeing as that's been done before, 'Angle was paid off by Chavo'. That way, they could explain every little bit of February as Angle playing at Eddie's friend all of a sudden when he hardly cared about him at all prior to January.

Basically, Angle was working as the sly under-handed heel all along...getting into Eddie's good books. After all, Eddie wouldn't suspect a thing of his new 'best friend'. Then, when the turn came, THAT'S why Angle didn't let Chavo win the title. It was part of the deal once Eddie got the belt. 'I'll take out Eddie as long as I get the title in return'. Chavo doesn't care as long as Eddie's not champion.

That way you could explain off January easily, and have Angle as the bad ass heel.

I agree with a bad ass Kurt as well. Dork heel Kurt doesn't draw. We all know this. (unfortunately, Cena didn't get the memo since he treated Angle like a dork on SD) The turn was wonderfully done this thursday.

Now if we can just get everyone to forget about Kurt/Eddy from end of December to the SD Rumble, everything works out in the end for me and the small group of naysayers.

WWE has no problem forgetting past history, why can't the smarks here do it as well seeing as the storyline fits better when you do it?

Well, come on A...Angle was starting a 'Hip Hip Hooray' chant. If that's not dorky I don't know what is.

Yeah, and "You say "Latino", you guys say "Heat" is cool.

Under that logic, no character can EVER turn face.

Sometimes, believe it or not, people act like jerks until something happens to them, then they start being nice...until something else happens to them, and they start acting like jerks again.

Are you telling me that never happens?

Are you SERIOUSLY telling me that never happens?

Are you such an expert in human psychology, that you're telling me that can never EVER happen?

Are you saying that your expertise in the human mind, which obviously far exceeds mine, that no one can ever have times in their lives when their attitude changes and they act differently towards people until they encounter another high stress situation?

Seriously?

I find your criticism lacking. I stand by my explanation.

Fine, just going with your suggestion for a minute. Say a month off completely changed his disposition. Why didn't it happen in March, when he had the bigger, more serious injury?

Under that logic, no character can EVER turn face.

The Kurt Angle character has turned face 80 times, and in all of those turns, he has NEVER cared about anyone but Kurt Angle.

Ah, but...Cena wears his cap backwards...that's always a sure fire sign that someone's 'kewl'.

I do not understand your question.

Are you asking why Kurt wasn't a heel last March? Or why he didn't beat down Brock the way he beat down Eddie?

AS, don't you realize you're still alleging that no one can EVER change?

Ever.

Or at least try to change.

Which is ridiculous.

I think what AS is "alleging" is that no one should ever change off-screen. Angles "friendship" with Brock was totally off-screen. Are we to believe that these two men who hated each other for a 3 months are now buddy-buddy? We never heard one phone call from Brock saying "hey, get better soon", we never saw ANYTHING. It was just "oh hey, by the way, me and Brock are best buddies". It's hard to swallow. Then, are we to believe that Angle cares about the Guerrero family after his tour of Iraq, but didn't care about family after his child was born??? Riiight (which, under the "let's assume" way of thinking, was a lil bit before Kurt sacrificed his brother to Brock Lesnar). I just don't find it believable. I don't have a problem with Angle vs. Guerrero, I just didn't get why they were friends in the first place.

I'm asking why a more serious injury didn't turn him into a family values monster.

In my scenario, Angle doesn't turn into a "family values monster" until he comes back from time off.

To answer your question, that more serious injury DID turn him into a "family values monster".

If you recall, Angle interjected himself into the Vince/Stephanie feud around that time.

We all assumed he was doing it because he used to have a crush on Stephanie, but couldn't it also have been a revulsion at seeing a father treating his daughter in a terribly? Angle, a father himself, was so repulsed by Vince's behavior that he automatically took Stephanie's side.

I don't even remember Kurt interjecting himself into that feud.

I'm not saying he didn't, I just don't remember it.

However, if it was being sold as Kurt having a crush on Steph, then, no, you're not allowed to assume anything else.
