BifEverchad Posted February 21, 2004 Report Posted February 21, 2004 I recently bought a new webcam, but only had two USB ports on the back of my computer (HP-pcs and my optical mouse) so I bought a 4-port USB port to connect my webcam to. One problem, it doesnt work. Its only a cheap one I bought at Wal-Mart this afternoon, for like $20. So it just might not work. But it seems kinda odd. I mean, I hooked it up right, the light came on. I plugged a cable into it, but no go. It just doesnt work. Anyone have any ideas before I try and return this thing? Or are you talking about the webcam? if so, I have that. i'm just saying the mouse and/or the HP psc doesnt work if I plug it into the hub.

As I said and showed you, it looks super cheap. All it had was the hub, a USB cord and thats it. No disc, no thing. I assumed I just plug it in, and plug whatever to it for it to work. But nope.
Dr. Tom Posted February 21, 2004 Report Posted February 21, 2004 Not all USB devices work well in USB hubs. Try plugging it directly into your other USB port.
