WWE News: Gates, Tough Enough, Jericho, More

Posted By Ashish on 02.23.04

Good sign for WWE....

- The 2/20 RAW house show in Evansville, IN drew 4000 paying fans for a $130,000 gate. The 2/21 show in Springfield drew 4800 paying fans for a gate of $155,000. The 2/22 show in Valparaiso, IN drew 2000 paying fans for a gate of $70,000. The 2/22 Smackdown house show in Springfield drew 2400 paying fans for a gate of $80,000.

- WWE management is high on former Tough Enough guys John Hennigan and Matt Cappotelli, as well as Horshu. They have all been working recent house shows.

- WWE management felt that Chris Jericho was doing too much in his match against Kane at the Saturday house show since he is supposed to be selling an injury. Jericho corrected the error on Sunday's show.

- Chris Jericho & Fozzy will be performing live tonight following RAW.

WWE Putting More Focus On Training Morgan

Youngster not coming along as quickly as hoped...

Tom Prichard will be spending more personal time training Matt Morgan. Morgan is very well liked backstage but some feel he is not picking things up as quickly as possible. WWE did opt to bring him up from OVW very early.

John Hennigan

He was on TE?

Yes. He was the "spinaroonie dude" who could also do a standing SSP. Hennigan co-won Tough Enough III.

Matt Morgan always struck me as a nice guy who definately wanted to not suck.

Speaking of which...did they EVER acknowledge him a TE Contestant?

I never did like how they never explained how Paul Heyman even FOUND Matt Morgan.

Nathan Jones made sense, as he was there a few months ago and was a "famous prison immate"...Brock was the 2 Time NCAA Champion...

Morgan? Just a HUGE monster that apprently Heyman discovered on his own...

Agreed.

Plus, he's still just green, and he doesn't seem to be Nathan Jones level- awful even now.
