Agree or disagree?
Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2004 Not a popular Jackie Chan movie, but I really liked Miracles. Oh yeah, and City Hunter kicked ass!
Karnage 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2004 For Eagle In Snake Fist, don't you mean Snake In The Eagle's Shadow? Eagle In Snake Fist is one of those Lo Wei era Jackie movies I think. Those are the movies you see at the public domain movie bargain bins at Wal-Mart and should be avoided. Drunken Master and Snake In The Eagle's Shadow are the movies that showed Jackie Chan was a star. I think his 80s movies like Police Story and all his projects he did with Sammo Hung and Yuen Biao like Wheels on Meals were gold.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2004 I'm a big fan of the goofy Lucky Stars movies and need to rewatch them without the bad dub.
Nighthawk 0 Report post Posted February 27, 2004 Those are the movies you see at the public domain movie bargain bins at Wal-Mart and should be avoided.. You can find good stuff in there too. I've gotten Drunken Master, My Lucky Stars and Dragons Forever out of there. Anyway, Drunken Master and Police Story are my favorites. Some others not mentioned, Young Master is good. Fearless Hyena (just stay away from Fearless Hyena 2, it was pieced together from scrap footage). Wheels on Meals isn't all that good, but the climactic fight scene is really great and worth it. By the way, the Grace Jones sisters fight was in Armour of God. The sequel to that was called Armour of God 2: Operation Condor, which was released outside Hong Kong first as Operation Condor, then the original was released later as Operation Condor 2: Armour of God. Its weird when they rename movie titles for no reason. I think Miracles just got re-released as Black Dragon. And some Hong Kong movies have been renamed to seem like sequels like "Another Meltdown" when they have nothing to do with the original.
razazteca 0 Report post Posted February 28, 2004 I think it funny that some HK production companies use the same cast to make a series of movies that have nothing in common and promote them as sequels to make money. Dimension Home Video was very bad at renaming the Jet Li movies but now Fox and Columbia are doing a decent job at keeping the orginal names now. The Miracles changing name to Black Dragon is acceptable since it could be confused with the Hockey movie in theaters now but most of the name changes were just plain insane. Especially Chinese Connection and Fist of Fury which depending on what region will be confused for the other movie.
