Scroby 0 Report post Posted March 4, 2004 RVD to Smackdown would be a nice change of pace altogether.
Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted March 5, 2004 WWE would be insane not to resign Van Dam, given how over he is with a live crowd. He's really done everything he can do on RAW though, so moving him to Smackdown! will not only freshen his character, but will also give him an opportunity to personally improve his own skills. Worked for guys like Edge and The Big Show, and Van Dam is better than both of those two. UYI
IWD 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2004 I've never thought for a second that he'd end up leaving. When Mikey Whipwreck was doing a Q&A session over here, he said that he thought there was zero chance of RVD signing a new contract.
Guest Nater Report post Posted March 6, 2004 His new contract could include some guaranteed title holds, like Big Show's contract (he fulfilled it, much to some people's chagrin. This is all a matter of hype on the net about RVD, the more interest they generate the better for both RVD and WWE. I'll say that RVD has giving out a rather uninterested vibe about how he's been handled and a SD! switch might revitalize interest in an arena that he wont be too horribly misused in. Do you think that Van Dam would have enough leverage for that? He's not exactly in Wight's position when he signed his WWF contract in early 1999. I'd say there's about a 50-50 chance of him jumping to SD - and even that in itself won't solve all his problems - as well as him staying on RAW until his contract expires. Enigma 0 Report post Posted March 6, 2004 Jim Ross denied that title reign guarantees are part of contracts, but was that kayfabe? I seem to remember a report saying that Curt Hennig's WCW contract guaranteed him at least one WCW Title reign, and that never happened.
