Red Baron 0 Report post Posted March 7, 2004 Recently I've just found out from these two bands, Elvenking, which is viking/power metal type of a band, and Sikth, which I have no explination what kind of genre of metal it is. A few songs by Elvenking are: Pagan Purity Banquet of Bards To Oak Woods Bestowed The Dweller of Rhymes White Willow Seasonspeech Skywards Oakenshield For Sikth Suffice Step Into The Sideshow Tupelo Such A Fool How May I Help You Scent of the Obscene Really I don't think anything special about Sikth, and have to be in the right mood and Elvenking is pretty good if you like Power Metal. Check them out both if you haven't heard of them, and if you have I'd like some feedback
DCMaximo 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2004 I haven't heard of the other band, but Sikth are pretty good IMO, especially How May I Help You?, which also had a great video. They're getting quite popular here in the UK, and their tour with Akercocke was pretty successful. I do agree that you have to be in a certain mood for Sikth though. Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted March 8, 2004 Elvenking needs to get locked in their tour bus, and just drive around listening to Dio for all eternity.
Guest Random Hero Report post Posted March 8, 2004 Sikth are pretty hit and miss, from what I've heard previously. On the one hand I love 'Scent Of The Obscene' on the other I hate 'How May I Help You'. The rest of their songs I could pretty much take or leave.
Red Baron 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2004 Elvenking needs to get locked in their tour bus, and just drive around listening to Dio for all eternity. How did I know you were going to say that. AoO, whats your opinion on Sikth
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted March 8, 2004 Never heard 'em. The name to me it sounds like Rob Halford saying "Sixth" after about 11 mimosas.
Red Hot Thumbtack In The Eye 0 Report post Posted March 8, 2004 If I remember this rightly, the one song I heard of Sikth was somewhat out there and spacy BM that didn't offend me. It's played on the radio thing linked in the sig.
