Hektik 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 Excerpts from the 3/15 Wrestling Observer Newsletter The plan for the Benoit vs Michaels vs HHH Mania match to be a ladder match was changed. At this point, the plan is for HHH vs Benoit on 4/18 in Edmonton at Backlash to be a ladder match, I'm guessin the feeling was that it would be stronger for the World title match at Mania to end with a 1-2-3. Based on the interview on Raw calling the match the main event, the presumptionis it will go on last and will go 30-35 minutes. They did tryouts last weekend to work it out. The basics of the match look to be that there will be one guy injured and the other two will work their spots until someone (most likely HHH as the heel) is just about done, and the other face will stagger and recover just in time to make the save and keep the match going. Patt Patterson and Michael Hayes came to the Baltimore show to give input to all three guys for how to help the Mania match. Beside the HOF inductees, there will be other 80s/90s WWF names that will be in at wrestlemania and HOF banquet who were asked to present the awards. Harley Race asked Flair to present his award and I believe Jim Ross will be presenting Bobby Heenan with his. When Rock was on "Richard & Judy" prime time talk show in the UK plugging "Welcome to the Jungle," (as "The Rundown" is being called internationally) he noted that his WWE contract expires next year. Bob Backlund turned the WWE HOF induction after at first agreeing. He said he didn't think the time was right when he declined. No word on whether Pete Rose thing had anything to do with it but there were people who were really into the honor and now feel a little different about it. With Edge and Benoit moving from Smackdown to Raw, there is a good chance, although not finalized, that Van Dam would be moving in the other direction. At this point there are no plans for either Undertaker or Kane to switch sides, and the program at last word is scheduled to end at Mania.
Just John 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 I don't like the idea of RVD moving to SD, at least not yet. Booker and RVD are pretty over as a team. While most people hate the idea of those two being stuck in the midcard, it's not like either of them will be getting a singles push any time soon. RVD leaving = Booker and RVD dropping the titles. That means either: a. Dudleys win the belts for the 259th time b. Jindrak/Cade get the titles c. La Res gets another failed run When letter 'b' seems like the best option of the 3, it's probably best to not rush anything.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 13, 2004 just send Booker and RVD over WITH The titles...Unify the damn things and Bischoff in a rage of anger fires Dudleys and Le Resistance and they go over to Smackdown and raw doesn't have to worry about a Tag Scene. Let's see so HHH will hit the pedigree on Benoit and have the win sealed up only to have the pin broken up by Michaels. Hey that'll please just about no one. With the ladder match for Backlash it guarentees now that Benoit will never pin HHH to win the title, assuming HHH doesn't take the pinfall at WMXX which I think is safe to assume. Oh well it's not like Benoit is winning the real World Title anyways.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 13, 2004 I've haven't gone into a WM with so much excitement and so much Apathy at the same time since...WMVIiI. Similar Builds if you think about it... Goldberg/Brock=Sid Vs Hogan-One guy's contract expires (Hogan and Goldberg) and the other leaves shortly after (Sid and Goldberg) Christian/Jericho=Ric Flair Vs Randy Savage (It's all because of a girl) X/Jericho=Piper Vs Hart (two best friends go at it) Eddy/Angle=Ric Flair Vs Randy Savage (Match that we all know going into it, will rock the house) That's about it...really. I wouldn't mind that. Send Hurricane over too, he needs a different gimmick, whether it's Sugar Shane, or ANYTHING else. He's being just wasted on RAW. Guest Choken One Report post Posted March 13, 2004 and make a trade for Rikishi in doing that... Rikishi can add to the VIBRANT I.C Title scene.... even if they keep the world tag...still send 'Kishi over and team him with Rosey and ship Hurricane to the CW's and that opens TWO new CW stars right away with S2H. The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted March 13, 2004 Send both RVD and Booker over. They need two uppermidcard/can fill in main eventers for a month guys anyway. Have them drop the belts at Mania...then get pissed at each other and have them constantly fight and destroy each other...and have Bisch trade them because he's sick of it. That way...Edge being traded for two people makes his return that much bigger... "Have JR say somthing like...what superstar is RAW getting that's worth these two guys?" Then Edge returns and it's an even bigger deal. And Booker and RVD move on to greener pastures that might even keep Van Dam happy enough that he'll re-up. Oh well it's not like Benoit is winning the real World Title anyways. Benoit will pin HHH at Mania. I see the ending going like this -- Benoit gives 10 german suplexes to HHH only to find Michaels recovered from his outside beating attacking him. Benoit than dishes out 10 germans suplexes to Michaels and collapses from the exhaustion but manages to fall inbetween HHH and Michaels on his stomach with one arm covering each of his opponents. Than he gets the 3 count and becomes the champion of the world after pinning both Michaels and HHH at the same time. Beautiful. Or better yet, Benoit stops covering HHH/Michaels at the 2 count only to stand up sporting an evil grin on his face. He than proceeds to give the snot rocket to both competitors, picks up Michaels, plants him on the top rope and powerbombs Michaels from the top rope on top of the laying HHH. Benoit inspired by Yokuzana pins his opponents stacked on top of each other and than hollors out, "Is this the best that the WW....clique has to offer?" In tribute of the lionheart Chris Jericho Benoit puts his foot on top of the pile of humanity complete with a most muscular pose. The end.

He's being just wasted on RAW I'm all for Hurricane going back to Smackdown but he wouldn't be "Shane Helms" it was Greg when he came in. So instead of Suga Shane it'd be now Gram Cracker Greg
