LucharesuFan619 Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 A few months ago, WWE signed two UPW standouts from California: Ryan "Keji" Sakoda and Chris Mordetzsky. Since then, Sakoda has become a regular on SmackDown!, having allied up with Tajiri and Jimmy Ya...DAWP!...Akio (phooey). Mordetzsky, meanwhile, has...well, that's what I'm curious about. What has he been doing since being signed? I don't remember seeing his name any time recently in 411Mania's OVW TV recaps. Has he worked dark matches? What's Mordetzsky's status with WWE, out of curiosity? Thanks in advance.
Silence Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 Hopefully he's been released. I don't want to see another Orlando Jordan or Maven going over the likes of Jamie Noble and Nunzio or Steven Richards, depending on which brand Mordetzsky would be on.
Mecha Mummy Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 How do you know he'd be like that? Have you seen him work? I haven't so I can't make that judgement... And I've seen no evidence of his existence in OVW recently.
Silence Posted March 20, 2004 Report Posted March 20, 2004 How do you know he'd be like that? Have you seen him work? I haven't so I can't make that judgement... Because most of the time, whenever someone we've never heard of from OVW is brought into WWE, they have the WWE generic rookie moveset and look that doesn't set them apart from other wrestlers. See also: Cade, Garrison. Orton, Randy. Cena, John (2002).

I heard "praise" of their work in OVW, but when they debuted on SD, they really didn't bring anything different to the table.

Wher eis he from? What good is he? He acts like he's only started wrestling 2 months ago :-/

Guest DeathBecomesYou Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 Chris Mordetzsky has changed his name ring name to Chris Masters, and is teaming up with Brent Albright as the Troubleshooters tag team. The team, along with stablemates Nick Dinsmore and Mark Magnus are the most heavily pushed guys in OVW right now, as they've been given the undefeated gimmick, and have been destroying some of the lesser teams ever since they made their debuts.

WOW, great, thanks for the info. Regarding Orlando Jordan - he worked for Maryland Championship Wrestling and was best known for his work there before getting signed by WWE.
Kardo Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 On a side note does anyone know whatever happened to Flash Flanigan in OVW?
Guest DeathBecomesYou Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 On a side note does anyone know whatever happened to Flash Flanigan in OVW? He's working for IWA in Puerto Rico under the name Slash Venum. It's a shame Flash was released though, even though he was a bit small by WWE standards, he could work, was very charismatic and took some sick looking bumps. His match with Chris Jericho from OVW's Last Dance show in 2001 stands out as an example of how good he was.
Kardo Posted March 21, 2004 Report Posted March 21, 2004 Yeah, I've seen the Last Dance match with Jericho and it struck me as odd that he wasn't kept around. Cut some pretty intense promos on Machine. Decent worker too, good at selling (see the match where he lost the title to Machine). Nothing beats Bull Buchanans promos though.... That guy could cut a creepy promo. The one where he invades Machines house is the best.

He actuallly only worked MCW twice...One, his first match, he won the title in a cross-promotional deal with I believe NWA:Bluegrass or whatever NWA faction is in Kentucky, and again a week later were he lost the title back to Brusier.
