Great memories from Backlash 2003, especially the one to the far right...

And yes, I viewed this page after accessing Draft Lottery spoilers...

I don't think that Goldberg dragging The Rock down in his last match for eleven months and The Big Show tossing Rey Mysterio around the ring qualifies as worthy Pay-Per-View nostalgia.

I like it how they just say, "Big Show tossed Rey Mysterio around the ring."

Exactly my point. Maybe they should've gone with 2002's Backlash.

JAZZ CAPTURED THE WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP.

THE ROCK BATTLED GOLDBERG.

BIG SHOW TOSSED MYSTERIO AROUND THE RING.

If last year's Backlash is any indication of what fans can expect Sunday, April 18 on pay-per-view, then WWE fans are in for one hell of a show. Here are last year's results:

WWE TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Team Angle def. Los Guerreros

Sean O'Haire def. Rikishi

WORLD TAG TEAM CHAMPIONSHIP

Rob Van Dam & Kane def. The Dudley Boyz

WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP

Jazz def. Trish Stratus

Big Show def. Rey Mysterio

WWE CHAMPIONSHIP

Brock Lesnar def. John Cena

Triple H, Ric Flair & Chris Jericho def.

Shawn Michaels, Booker T & Kevin Nash

Goldberg def. The Rock

If that doesn't get you jazzed for Backlash '04, you are one soulless, jaded cynic.

When was it announced that HBK is challenging?

Last night in a backstage segment. HBK told Bischoff to trade him to SD after HHH got drafted. Bischoff said he'd give HBK a world title shot instead. HBK said that would work, because he'd win the title to make HHH mad, or something.

Yes, Benoit was the background to all of this.

Something to note:

Should HHH stay on Smackdown, not be traded back to Raw or anything...

This will be the first time in GOD knows how long that HHH has NOT been involved in the World Heavyweight Title match.

With Benoit/HBK the main event in Edmonton...how cool would it be to have Bret involved in the show?

We could only hope.

Anybody think Michaels is walking out the champ?

I don't think so...not after how they've played up Benoit's homecoming and all that...but after announcing him from Atlanta every week, who knows...maybe a heel turn is in the works.

I was thinking that Michaels could completely turn heel in Edmonton, as they do need somebody to fill in the major heel role on Raw now.

THEN we may get Rock/Shawn, would be nice for SSlam.

They're not going to have to worry about Michaels "turning" heel in Edmonton. He's going to be a heel the minute he walks in that building facing Benoit.

Except when Shawn is cheered in Canada like he was for NWO last year...against another Canadian...

I'd say ANYONE is pretty much a heel going against Benoit in his hometown.

Pepole also thought that Shawn would get the biggest pop of the night at XX due to his reception at Survivor Series 2002.

And the reactions he ended up getting at XX WERE a throwback to Survivor Series... 1996, that is.

No, they're not taking the belt from around Benoit's waist yet, especially not at Backlash.

Foley/Orton one-on-one after WrestleMania... Bret returning after WrestleMania? Obviously the location of Backlash plays a part in aswell.

And somewhat off-topic:

Three reasons as to why Shawn Michaels will acquire heat at Backlash:

1. Smart crowd

2. Edmonton, Alberta

3. Let's just say that Shawn Michaels isn't especially welcome in Canada

And the rumours of it being a Ladder Match... Things would be off the charts even without one, but if it were indeed a Ladder Match with a purpose...

I have a suspicion or two, but indeed, how so?
