Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2004 iB is Eagan, or at least the Prime guy. iB is the real deal. Every American I've come across here knows jack all about Australia, and this guy has been speaking about certain areas of Queensland where he resides etc. Generalisation or not, I've yet to come across anyone to prove me wrong. The fact that he isn't a joke makes it all that more sad. UYI

Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted April 3, 2004 All I know about Australia is that when you flush the toilet the water goes down clockwise...and you punish criminals by kicking them in the rear with a giant boot.

Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted April 3, 2004 UYI, you're Australian?? His moronic nature makes me do as that Smilie indicates. All I know about Australia is that when you flush the toilet the water goes down clockwise...and you punish criminals by kicking them in the rear with a giant boot. I don't know about the boot... Based on Bart's actions, I think that it was just an over-the-top display of an Australian trademark... but as for the toilet water, dammit, I've said it before - it doesn't go any specific way! spiny norman 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2004 The Western Suburbs of Sydney here. And yeah, toilet water kind of just goes down, I never notice it spiralling much. Draining water yes, I've noticed its clockwise nature, but never before have I noticed such a thing with toilets.

Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Report post Posted April 3, 2004 Toowoomba You're not cool enough to live in a town with a name that awesome. Haha. If you're not used to it, it can either sound like an Aboriginal name or that of a coastal town.
Guest Agent of Oblivion Report post Posted April 3, 2004 I've got a love/hate relationship with Australia. I want to dramatically choke the lager-slogging Ozzie! Ozzie! Ozzie! soccer contingent, but at the same time, is one of the most gorgeous countries I've seen in pictures, and has by far the coolest natives.

Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2004 Ah yes, the stereotypical Australian is plentiful in this country, but only in certain areas. I can understand your distaste for them, they only tend to get along with other people who share their own traits. The soccer contingent isn't restricted to one sport, you'll find they're like that with most team sports, espically Rugby League and Cricket. The natives here are, by far, the most interesting and diverse people I've ever encountered, however I've not exactly had a great deal of life experience myself, being only 19, so my judgement shouldn't be taken too seriously. I could go into it here but I'd write seven odd paragraphs just trying to detail their culture's depth. Of course, it is particularly depressing to see here in Australia how some of the Aboriginals have been drastically affected by alcoholism, unemployment and drug abuse. These issues have led to a vast generalisation that is exceptionally derogatory and offensive to the good natured people, who have been trying for decades to restore their own culture. Again, far too much to cover here, but they certainly are very interesting people. UYI

And regarding Aboriginals drastically affected by alcoholism, unemployment and drug abuse, that truly is sad - but who's fault was it? (And no, I'm not trying to imply that it was theirs). I'm not going to delve into history, but I'm sure that pretty much all of you know the events that occurred. All in all, no wars, lack of land disasters, Stuffed-Crust pizza and beautiful scenery - it's a pretty nice place to live. And UYI, our state > the others. Use Your Illusion 0 Report post Posted April 3, 2004 Obviously one could place the blame squarely on English immigrants and settlers. Which, of course, I am a direct decendant of, seeing as my family originates entirely from the United Kingdom. UYI

Oh, same thing in the states with the indian reservations. Awful places to visit, really. My thoughts on australian lager is the same as my thoughts on all beer. A foul-tasting waste of time. If you're drinking alcohol, at least have the common decency to make it hard liquor. I picked out soccer because I hate that sport, and know next to nothing about Cricket or Rugby, aside from them being the hemispheric equivalents of football and baseball, only not at all similar in rules or style of play. Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted April 3, 2004 I demand one of you Aussie's go take a digi-cam and photograph the clockwise downward movement of your toilet water as its flushed.

Guest FrigidSoul Report post Posted April 3, 2004 I don't believe you. Mine goes counter-clockwise like no tommorow when flushed. Maybe you Aussie's don't have high powered toilets and just shit in a stock-pot like thing with a hole in it leading to the sewers.

Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted April 4, 2004 I vote for BBCW simply because at the rate he's going, Choken One's post whore count is in jeopardy. Nah, I've been posting in HD more often, and the posts don't count. So Choke One is safe. Does it matter how many times someone makes a post though? Unless someone brags about it...I can't think of anyone...then it really means nothing.
