On a Queensland radio station this morning, it was announced that, because of something to do with the Swimming, Athens wasn't ready, thus the 2004 Olympic Games were being given back to Australia.

 

Bear in mind that it is April 1st - has anybody else heard anything about this?

It wouldn't be entirely out of the realm of possibility given Athens slow going on building venues however I think the fact that it originated in Australia makes it a good candidate for an April Fool's joke.

It may have been a joke, but with the pisspoor way Bush has handled Iraq and the War on Terror, I wouldn't be surprised if the Olympics were moved further away from the Middle East this year...
