Guest glennsoe Report post Posted April 5, 2004 Updates on what the future holds for the Dudleys, Funaki, and more... - It is expected that the Dudley Boys will feud with Rikishi & Scotty 2 Hotty over the WWE Tag Team Titles with the Dudleys eventually turning heel. - Mark Jindrak is still expected to be paired with Teddy Long. - John Cena vs. Rene Dupree for the WWE U.S. Title and Chavo Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio for the WWE Cruiserweight Title are likely for the Judgment Day PPV in May. - Funaki could be turned into a heel manager for Kenzo (Kenzo Suzuki). Kenzo's first program will likely be against Billy Gunn. - Some people backstage are already second guessing the plan for an Eddie Guerrero/Bradshaw main event feud. Lil' Bitch 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2004 - It is expected that the Dudley Boys will feud with Rikishi & Scotty 2 Hotty over the WWE Tag Team Titles with the Dudleys eventually turning heel. Good. - John Cena vs. Rene Dupree for the WWE U.S. Title and Chavo Guerrero vs. Rey Mysterio for the WWE Cruiserweight Title are likely for the Judgment Day PPV in May. Better. - Some people backstage are already second guessing the plan for an Eddie Guerrero/Bradshaw main event feud. Suggestion: Give the slot to Big Show instead then. AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2004 "- Funaki could be turned into a heel manager for Kenzo (Kenzo Suzuki). Kenzo's first program will likely be against Billy Gunn." The better wrestler of the two is going to be a manager. Go figure. However, if they're going to do this, STRIKE ONE!--Funaki is not a serious character and can't speak English well. so he won't help, and STRIKE TWO!--a program with Billy Gunn will not help him get over. Spaceman Spiff 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2004 I think Funaki can speak English well enough. He's been living in Texas for a while now, so I imagine he's got a handle on the language.
Guest Goodear Report post Posted April 5, 2004 Hell who wouldn't want Funaki to just drop the accent and be all, "Screw this 'numbah one announcer' crap... Why don't I just do all the match in the company too, you stereotype loving bastards!"
AndrewTS 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2004 Funaki may--however, you can't just learn proper pronunciation from living in America. Unless he learned English when he was young and spoke it regularly, he's going to be transposing L's and R's for the rest of his life. That's just how it works. Guest Goodear Report post Posted April 5, 2004 Oh, I'm certain he has some accent. I'm also sure he's Eddie Guerrero-ing it with a big old overpronunciation.
The Ghost of bps21 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2004 PERFECT. Kenzo is the Japanese Billy Gunn!!!! Big guy who is "atheltic"...but SUCKS.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted April 5, 2004 I love how everyone stereotypes Funaki not being able to speak english...WHEN HE LIVES IN THE UNITED STATES! Last I check, less than 1% of america speaks Japanese. Jeez, McMahon's brain washing works.
justsoyouknow 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2004 Oh, I'm certain he has some accent. I'm also sure he's Eddie Guerrero-ing it with a big old overpronunciation. Anyone remember Eddie's "G.E.D./Prom" angle? I'm really not sure how that one got away without being racist. But yeah, I'm sure that Funaki is just going over the top with the "Numbah One Announce-ah~!" thing.
1234-5678 0 Report post Posted April 5, 2004 - John Cena vs. Rene Dupree for the WWE U.S. Title are likely for the Judgment Day PPV in May. If they actually let Dupree beat Cena, that's gonna go over like a fart in church.
