Ted the Poster 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2004 I just bought Hitman 2 as a PS2 Greatest Hit. Having never played the series before, I'm concerned about things I've heard. Mostly pertaining to how hard Hitman 2 is compared to Hitman 1 and the difficulty in general. Could someone who knows the series enlighten me a liitle bit? DangerousDamon 0 Report post Posted April 9, 2004 Well I've never played the first one, but in the later levels of Hitman 2, the difficulty gets ridiculous(the level with the ninja snipers is a prime example). Once you get the hang of the controls and timing, Hitman 2 is pretty easy until you get to Japan, where it gets fucking hard before going back to being strangely easy again. Oh, and don't bother trying to sneak and stealth your way through the game, unless you just really like a challenge. Sooner or later in almost all of the levels, some guard sees you and blows your cover, thus turning it into a bloodbathic massacre (it's way too easy to win many levels by just blowing away anything that moves). Tell me about it. The mission in Japan where you have to sneak into the complex via the truck is INSANE. I remember the first time I played that mission, I took ONE step and I got shot in the head. I just stopped playing that game for like a week because of that. And the ninjas, oh my God, the ninjas are ridiculous. They dodge your bullets and take like a whole clip from the Uzi before they die. On the other hand, if you keep sniping the snipers yourself, eventually one of them will drop their Custom Super-Duper Godrifle out the window for you to pick up yourself. It's the only place in the game you can get one of these and keep it. And oh yeah, a lot of the Russian missions are cast-iron bitches, especially the one where you lose automatically if you set off the alarm and the one where you have NO FRIKKIN' GUNS and have to creep up and kill the soldiers just by strangling them, which is damn near impossible. Are you talking about the Custom Rifle? I think I got one of those in the last mission. Oh and that last mission in Russia is definetly a bitch. Once you find a lone guard kill him and get his gun, everything is good. Hell, I don't even bother trying to strangle the clone. I just shoot him in the back of the head with the 9mm. Does it reward you for being stealth other than that point screen and saying whether or not you are a mass murderer or not?
