IWA Mid-South Derby Madness '04

Recommended Posts

IWA Mid-South Wrestling presents "Derby Madness 2004: The IWA Mid-South/NWA Wildside Challenge" on Friday night, April 30th, at the National Guard Armory (2909 Grant Line Road) in New Albany, Indiana.

The event will feature a series of IWA-MS vs. NWA Wildside matches in a "friendly duel" between the two promotions. Fans of Wildside who are familiar with their talent, feel free to post your "dream matches" between stars of the two promotions in this topic! For more info on NWA Wildside, visit http://www.nwa-wildside.com/

As a sidenote, Matt Sydal and Delirious, who both compete regularly for both groups, have elected to represent IWA Mid-South on the Derby Madness card. So you can factor that into your match ideas when posting your thoughts!

I don't really follow NWA Wildside, but those who do can drop some predictions here.

- Jeremy V

- "Unrated" Salvatore Rinauro

- Shadow Jackson

Excellent choices overall.

Here are my probable predictions for the matches:

"Kool" Seth DeLay vs. Matt Sydal -DeLay is the cream of the Wildside cruiser crop and has been touted as "the next AJ Styles" -and from what work of his I've seen, the hype is real- makes sense to put him against the IWA Lightweight champ

Salvatore Rinauro vs. Delirious -Rinauro works a great comedy/cruiser style, as does Delirious, so this seems like a natural fit- plus like DeLay/Sydal, they're familiar with each other from Wildside

Jeremy V. vs. Brad Bradley - V, while the same size as the other two cruisers, is more known as a selling, bumping underdog babyface. So I expect him to fight Bradley in a "big man vs. little man" match similar to Bradley/Cody O'Neill from the July 4th show (which I enjoyed a lot.)

Rainman vs. "Anarchist" Arik Cannon- I can't think of a better fit for each other, the two most versatile wrestlers in their respective companies.

Ray Gordy vs. Danny Daniels -Former champ vs. the son of the legendary Terry Gordy

Tank vs. Ryan Boz - Big dude vs. other big dude

Murder 1 and Shadow Jackson vs. Ian Rotten and Steve Stone -M1/Jackson are the brawling tag team, and you have to get Rotten and Stone on here somewhere

Lost Boyz vs. "Spyder" Nate Webb and Petey Williams -Azrael/Gabriel work a funky neo-lucha style similar to Nate, and Petey can keep up with anybody, so hopefully this one happens, it could be the MOTN.
