I predict the Orioles do what the Blue Jays did last year.

Nothing?

Im going to assume he meant finish in 3rd place.

Not exactly.

They'll start off real strong because all of their offense is really clicking right now and their pitching is getting by. However when people come down to Earth and its basically left to Sidney Ponson, Tejada, Javy Lopez, and Palmeiro(like it came down to Halladay, Vernon Wells, Carlos Delgado, and Frank Cattalanato) the team will start its decent into the middle of the pack.

*gives the Cubs/Reds game some love*

We're six innings in and in the middle of a pitching dual. Luckily, Cubs were able to play small ball and score the only two runs of the game as a result of three singles in the sixth. The Reds' mental errors (having no one covering third and Jimenez breaking the wrong way on the Lee groundball) have also helped out.

To show how much improvement the Orioles have had so far over past 6 years

First 10 game Record:

2004 : 6-4

-------

2003 : 4-6

2002 : 2-8

2001 : 4-6

2000 : 5-5

1999 : 3-7

1998 : 8-2

1998 was the year after they won the Wild Card, and the first year of their 6 years in 4th place.

I know its only 10 games but getting off to a good start this year is an improvement over what they've done the last few years.

Something has to be done about this team.

K-Rod is beyond useless. So of course the guy we traded him for is hitting like .400.

not to mention he gets paid a 1/5 of what A-Hole does

Moises Alou may have just saved the game with that diving catch. I've always gotten on him for his lack of hustle all around but he's really impressing me lately. I thought for sure that the ball would drop in front of Alou and even when it appeared that he made the diving catch, I thought there was no way he'd hang on. Awesome.

Oh, I'm sorry he isn't getting his normal 5 inch off the plate strike today.

Boo hoo, go cry Wood. I'd be upset at your bafoon manager, not the ump.

From who? Some people on a message board? OH NO!

Sosa should have been rung up in the ninth yesterday and did you see Danny Graves acting like a crybaby? Nope.

I agree that Baker's an idiot and I don't think the last pitch that Wood thought was a strike was actually a strike. Rather, what should've been strike three (which was right in the zone) was called ball three.

And Merker only needs to throw one pitch to get the third out. Jesus, Baker, why do you think you've got a pen? I wouldn't trust middle relieve with a close game but the likes of Merker, Hawkins and Borowski are usually reliable.

Ok. Three straight days of slight heartattacks for myself. I would love it for our bullpen to pay my hospital bill.

Good game Cubs. Man, this series is hot.
