Yes it is. Americans by and large don't care half as much about someone being from their home country as Canadians do. Hence, its stupid to change the hometowns. But its also stupid that Canadians seem to care so much about it so I decided to fire both chambers.

Canada did cheer Steve Austin over Owen Hart at Survivor Series '97. Think about that for a moment; Steve Austin was cheered over a Hart. It's not like Canadians ALWAYS cheer their own guys over non-Canadians. They respect workrate. Sure, those from the country will get a bigger than average reaction, but that's to be expected. I'd actually compare most of Canada's crowd to MSG's.

 

They both don't like Shawn Michaels as well.

 

In any case, I've as said before, the decision to change the hometowns IS stupid. Why defend something that is based on a petty vendetta?

Overall on the topic, pretending that WWE are doing this to be up-to-date, it's fucking stupid - Chris Benoit, for example. He has Canadian roots. Edmonton roots. That's where he's from. Forget where he's living now, that's where he began, and that's what matters.
