JoeDirt Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 With Bradshaw doing his whole Dibiase-like thing (sort of), Rene Dupree chanelling Rick Martel, and Mark Jindrak bringing back another old gimmick this week on SD (I won't mention it specifically because of spoilers I guess), what other old gimmicks should be brought back and used? How about Orlando Jordan as the new Koko B. Ware? Or maybe Paul London and Billy Kidman dressed like High Energy? Maybe the diabolical Shannon "The Snake" Moore or perhaps Charlie "The Barber" Haas?
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 If any of those gimmicks happen I will be forced to find out where you live and make you suffer through 24 hours of Test matches and promos.
JoeDirt Posted April 15, 2004 Author Report Posted April 15, 2004 But Test is awesome! Speaking of Test...wasn't he doing a Narcissist type thing not too long ago? I guess not all out with the mirror and everything, but still.
Guest Anglesault Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 The sad thing about Jindrak is that he's nowhere near as good as the guy who originally had the gimmick. Same could be said for JBL and Dupree.

Same could be said for JBL and Dupree. True...though none of them have had much practice yet, I guess. But still...the WWE is slowly becoming 1993 all over again.
Guest Anglesault Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 (edited) I meant in the ring. Dupree isn't as good as Martel, Bradshaw doesn't approach DiBiase, a Jindrak isn't close to Luger Edited April 15, 2004 by Anglesault

JoeDirt Posted April 15, 2004 Author Report Posted April 15, 2004 I meant in the ring. Dupree isn't as good as Martel, Bradshaw doesn't approach DiBiase, a Jindrak isn't close to Luger Oh, well yeah, you're absolutely right about that. The difference between Bradshaw and Dibiase is BIG.
Guest I Got Banned for Sucking Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 There's a difference between Bradshaw and Ted DiBiase. What perplexes me is what will happen later on - that gimmick of Bradshaw's is fit for the title picture only, I can't see Mark Jindrak getting over, and Rene Dupree? Well, he may be the only one with hope.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 I have to enough confidence in Bradshaw being the worst main eventer today that I'll say I'd rather watch Batista & Randy Orton matches instead. All we need is an Indian who has his undefeated streak ended by an evil enviromentalist and we have 1993 covered. Then we can move to 1995 when the shit really sucked.
AndrewTS Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 Rick Rude's gimmick was retooled for Val, and DiBiase's was retooled for Tiger Ali Singh. One wasn't as successful, the other was a disaster. Some one mentioned that Scott Hall's persona could be reworked into a great persona. Sean O'Haire's gimmick would be good for someone who didn't suck at it. Someone recalled that so far Eugene was displaying Norman the Lunatic tendencies--which, while silly, got over. All we need is an Indian who has his undefeated streak ended by an evil enviromentalist and we have 1993 covered. Then we can move to 1995 when the shit really sucked. What about '94?
Guest Choken One Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 Chuck Palumbo is the ONLY choice for The New Razor Ramon.

What about '94? 1994 was pretty much suck free except for the occasional bad gimmick like Savio Vega. thank God for Bret forcing Vince to push Owen.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 Chuck Palumbo is the ONLY choice for The New Razor Ramon. Yeah....he does that discuss punch pretty fucking good
Guest Choken One Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 Savio Vega debuted in 1995, The first IYH after Mania. 1994 also included with the great Owen/Bret angle...the very good lengthy HBK/Diesel Vs Razor Angle... Backlund snapping was gold as well... Only the Undertaker Hijinks give 1994 a black eye.
Guest The Midnight Rocking Warrior Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 Bradshaw is not worthy of speaking DiBiase's name.

(raises fist in anger) Edit: Whoops, clicked Choken Ones sig.....hehe..
Guest Trivia247 Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 Chuck Palumbo is the ONLY choice for The New Razor Ramon. nah they could rehire big titan again.
JoeDirt Posted April 15, 2004 Author Report Posted April 15, 2004 They should do the angle they meant for Bob Backlund in 94. He was choking out Hart, but it was really Papa Shango possessing him. That was the original plan, at least. Maybe Rosey could turn heel and become supervillain Rosey Demento or Rosey Shango. I think Rhyno could easily be given a retooling as Mantaur. Chris Nowinski would be perfect as a Genius-like heel manager. John Heidenreich sort of has a Ludvig Borga thing going on. Shelton Benjamin is clearly the next 123 Kid. And yes, I'm being sarcastic.
spman Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 I always thought it would be great if they repackaged La Resistance with the old Fabulous Rougeau Brothers gimmick. Have them announce that they're moving to AMerica and have them wave miniature American flags and become faux American sympathizers, but still have them be heels as the same time
Vyce Posted April 15, 2004 Report Posted April 15, 2004 I'd mark for a Kwang return. Not Savio Vega - just stick some guy in a mask, like Al Snow did this past Raw, and poof! MASKED NINJA!!!!! I think Kenzo Suzuki will probably be brought in as the Evil Japanese Heel. And personally, if you're just going to go crazy with the gimmicks, then I say it's time to bring back a hillbilly. Only make him evil. And Satanic. I'm talking Otis Driftwood-House-of-1,000-Corpses evil.
