Styles Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 During a God damn Yankees/Sox game. Isn't there some meaningless Blue Jay/Oriole game next week that Fox can do this to? HEY I think it will be funny if the Stanks and Red Sux Oh my. It's a shock to you, I know, but not all baseball fans revolve themselves around the New York/Boston rivalry...
Guest Anglesault Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 But the ones who don't usually come up with better names than that.
sfaJack Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 As for Selig, isn't this guy supposed to step down when his contract runs out? When is that, after this season? Next season? It can't come soon enough... Actually, I think it's the same year the CBA expires - 2006.
Styles Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 But the ones who don't usually come up with better names than that. I'm open to suggestions!
DerangedHermit Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 Other "enhancements": A "gay-dar" in which those who radiate high amount of gayium will radiate with a hot pink glow (Giambi, A-Rod and Jeter are expected to test off the chart) All other players will ask "When will He return?" when Johnny Damon is not at bat/has an injury Graphical updates on Steinbrenner's mood and pulse When the Braves play: running counts on how many times Leo Mazzone rocks and Bobby Cox gets thrown out When the Mets play: individual bullpen pitcher probabilities of blowing the game A "Cedenometer": measures relative suckiness of a player to Roger Cedeno (a .000 is the best player ever, .100 is a HOF, .500 is average, .9 is Rey Ordonez, 1 is Roger Cedeno) --- a "Rojasmeter" is available for pitchers

Met fans aren't in the best position to say that.

Met fans aren't in the best position to say that. Yankees 3 (A-Rod, Jeter, Giambi) Mets 1 (possibly Piazza, but he's engaged----to a woman---now) Thuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh Yankees wiiiiiiiin...THHUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH YANKEES WIN!
Guest Anglesault Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 Number of Yankees whose Gayocity reached the point that they had to hold a press conference? Number of Yankees who had a bleach blond chain link beard? And last I heard he was reported to be engaged to someone named Al, but he was vehemently denying it.
Guest Redhawk Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 A "Cedenometer": measures relative suckiness of a player to Roger Cedeno (a .000 is the best player ever, .100 is a HOF, .500 is average, .9 is Rey Ordonez, 1 is Roger Cedeno) --- a "Rojasmeter" is available for pitchers Why you gotta hate on Rey Ordonez?
DerangedHermit Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 Number of Yankees whose Gayocity reached the point that they had to hold a press conference? Number of Yankees who had a bleach blond chain link beard? Piazza never looked like a gay Roger Clemens or the offsprings of the Rock and a Muppet "Ohmigawsh, look at that sexy hunk Jorge Posada!" "But he's straight!"

Guest Anglesault Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 I guess you have a point. BTW, I googled both those pictures, but I just realized, the Piazza pic is from "transgender.org"
DerangedHermit Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 Ok...Piazza may be gay...and A-Rod, Jeter and Giambi are...but Yankee and Mets fans alike can agree who else is gay.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 You may be the first person ever to claim Piazza is straight. also, I like the "George's Pulse-O-Meter" idea. They should totally do that.

Guest Anglesault Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 I'm not sure how A-Rod Jeter and Giambi are gay. The only thing I can gather is that Met fans, in the face of overwhelming evidence that their star is gay (), needed to make Yankee stars gay. Can't argue a 30 year old who still goes by the name "Chipper" though.
DerangedHermit Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 Can't argue a 30 year old who still goes by the name "Chipper" though. Or a pitcher who needs to push an old man to look "masculine." And come on, ya know at least one of those 3 Yanks are gay (probably Giambi or "Jetes" --- yeth Mithter Thteinbrenner, I've been a baaad boy)
Guest Anglesault Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 I think Giambi and Rodriguez have hot wives. Not that that actually means anything these days
DerangedHermit Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 A "Cedenometer": measures relative suckiness of a player to Roger Cedeno (a .000 is the best player ever, .100 is a HOF, .500 is average, .9 is Rey Ordonez, 1 is Roger Cedeno) --- a "Rojasmeter" is available for pitchers Why you gotta hate on Rey Ordonez? If you were a Met fan, you'd probably hate him too.
Guest Anglesault Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 Especially after every late night talk radio host on WFAN told Met fans, no, no matter how many times they propose it, Rey Ordonez, Timo Perez and Mr. Met will not get you Barry Bonds.
Guest Smell the ratings!!! Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 I can't belive they thought someone would take Timo. wait....fuck.
Guest Redhawk Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 Seriously, though. I became a Rey Ordonez fan after his rookie year, when he was making some of the most spectacular defensive plays I'd ever seen. I knew he was never the best hitter in the world, but neither was Ozzie Smith. So why's he so far down the ladder now?
Vern Gagne Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 Ugh. Yet ANOTHER reason to hate Fox Sports. If they're going to do this, I demand equal time for the talking baseball to explain why the sacrifice bunt is such an idiotic play, and why sabermetrics are the wave of the future. Something kids can USE. I never really gave a crap what a slider did. Don't tell the Marlins that. They faired pretty well last year playing small ball.
Guest Evolution Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 The streak on the puck was a bad idea, but I rather liked knowing where the puck was when the camera couldn't pick up on it. I was just thinking about this the other night watching the Boston/Montreal game. But yeah, I don't know about this talking baseball thing. We'll see.
DerangedHermit Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 I can't belive they thought someone would take Timo. wait....fuck. At least you're not a Cards fan. THEY took Roger Cedeno. HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
DerangedHermit Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 I just want to see them explain errors while having Patrick & Squidworth doing flashbacks of famous errors and have Spongebob laugh at them. "hahahahaha the ball went between his legs" Mr. Crabs = ???
nl5xsk1 Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 Or a pitcher who needs to push an old man to look "masculine." Not that I'd ever defend Pedro, but I don't think that he pushed an old man to look masculine. He ole'd him and threw him down because the old man charged him. If he wanted to look masculine he would have kicked his geriatric ass right there on the field.
EVIL~! alkeiper Posted April 16, 2004 Report Posted April 16, 2004 Seriously, though. I became a Rey Ordonez fan after his rookie year, when he was making some of the most spectacular defensive plays I'd ever seen. I knew he was never the best hitter in the world, but neither was Ozzie Smith. So why's he so far down the ladder now? Two reasons...... 1. Ozzie's defense was much better. Ordonez made spectacular plays. Ozzie made EVERY play. 2. Ozzie was not as bad a hitter as people think, while Ordonez is outright terrible. Ozzie owns a career .337 OBP, while Ordonez's is .291. Ordonez plays in a MUCH better era for hitters, and Ozzie smokes him.

Plus, that stupid motherfucker couldn't lay off swinging at pitches around his eyeballs, and swung for the fences every at bat even though he's a fucking midget.
