How long has it been running, is it bankrolled by NJPW Japan, kind of an OVW equivalent? Anyone seen any past shows? This sounds, obviously, like a damn good card and I wouldn't mind trying to get hold of it from somewhere. Both Dragon and Romero, I think, now progress through to the Super Juniors tournament in Japan.
Youth N Asia 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2004 That show doesn't really showcase all of them. But American Junior Heavyweights have really come a long way in the last few years. They're pretty much taking over the indy circuit as it is. Not that many great heavyweights right now.
Guest DeputyHawk Report post Posted April 17, 2004 Yeah, which bodes well for the future. When pretty much all the good young guys who are now on the scene are cruisers, there's only so long you can keep them out of the main events at the top level. I agree the tourney doesn't showcase the diversity of U.S juniors it could have done, but do they have to have some sort of connection with NJPW to compete? Teddy Hart has no connection that I'm aware of. But with this and the Super-8, April been a kin good month for the little guys.
Tawren 0 Report post Posted April 17, 2004 I reeeally want a tape of that.
Guest Markingout Report post Posted April 17, 2004 X-Pac and Teddy both out in round 1? Who booked that shit! In all seriousness though, Quance should of atleast made it to the second round. This guy is a superstar on level of AJ Styles. His name just isn't out there. Oh well, I hope Dragon, and Romero do well in the Super Juniors so the world could see that America does have some good juniors.
Guest DeputyHawk Report post Posted April 18, 2004 Are the Inoki Dojo shows even taped? I don't remember ever seeing them anywhere. Please tell me I'm wrong...
Guest Steve Report post Posted April 18, 2004 With a name like "Inoki Dojo" it's pretty obvious they are affiliated with New Japan. Actually it's New Japan's US school. This was their fourth show, and you can find results for the other three on socaluncensored.com also (go to 'topics' and just look for Inoki Dojo). The show was taped, and the second Inoki Dojo show aired in Japan on Samurai TV on 4/4, so I'm sure a copy must be floating around somewhere. Steve

Guest BrokenWings Report post Posted April 25, 2004 Pics from the event can be found here: http://www.shanesphotos.com/wrestling/gall...41604/index.htm I apologize for not being up to date on my indy wrestling, but what's the name of the suplex variation that American Dragon wins the finals with? Looks pretty damn brutal.
Corey_Lazarus 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2004 Cradle Back Suplex, also sometimes called an inverted Fisherman's Suplex (although it's not, since the head would have to be in an inverted front facelock and the leg bent the other way).
Phoenix Fury Legdrop 0 Report post Posted April 25, 2004 Update on tapes: New Japan has issued a cease-and-desist on anyone in the States selling it (I heard they might be getting minor TV in America soon, and don't want it leaking before it airs).
