WWE Wrestlemania XX DVD in my hands now...

Recommended Posts

Not sure how it sounded live, but you can't hear much of the crowd during Goldbergs and Lesnars entrances. But you hear a MASSIVE "You Sold Out" and "Na-Na Song."

Is the Austin chant canned? How about that brief Goldberg chant during his entrance?

I saw it at Circuit City today for $19.99 but I held off for now.

Why would someone buy this DVD on eBay for over $30?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewI...4184608273&rd=1

Unless if you live in Canada or the UK and you desperately need it.

I thought of that, but the guy who had the auction doesn't ship to outside of the US, and the guy who won does live in the US.

Just seems odd that some goob would pay so much for it when you can just go to town, or buy it online, for $10 less.

Anybody having picture problems with Disk 2? I can't describe it- but just watching it is giving me a headache.

Is the disc quality messing with your head?

Austin's chant is not canned, he was actually the most over person in the match. People cheered for him like always.

When Goldberg made his appearance he got some cheers, but nothing earth-shattering or anything. I booed him, though. I hate Goldberg.

Lesnar was booed big time. I believe I was one of the few people who did cheer him, at least around my section.

So, the "You sold out" and "na-na goodbye" chants are real. I'm happy they didn't downplay them on the DVD. The Austin chant is real, too, and so is the mild Goldberg chant when he entered.

They edited the Dudleys music, too. Kind of stupid to license it for the show but not the DVD.

Anyway, I think that the crowd response to the Goldberg/Brock match is fairly accurate. I didn't hear as much "BORING" as I remember, but otherwise it seems fairly close. I hear the Hogan chant, I heard "We want Bret" and everything else.

Only if the sole purpose for buying WrestleMania XX on DVD was to hear the Dudleyz' music...

A bad marketing strategy would be if people DIDN'T buy the PPV. They obviously did.

Was it expensive? Sure. Did the high cost scare people away? Not so much.

To give another example on a lesser scale, I paid $11.25 to see Kill Bill Volume 2 the day it opened at a big super-theatre, but in 4 months I could have rented it from the local video store for about $5.

It's all about seeing something when it's fresh and new.

I couldn't wait to see a big show for the first time on DVD. If I'm going to watch Wrestlemania, I want to watch it live as it happens, and I don't want to already know who wins.

And good God, $11.25 to see a movie? Where in the world do you live?

Was it me or did Brock just didn't seem like he knew what to do during the chants. I mean Goldberg basically let them roll off his shoulder, but Brock didn't.

It's weird. For the Molly/Victoria and Eddie/Angle matches, it's kind of blury, or buffered. But everything after it is fine.

Ontario, Canada.

It didn't used to be that much (it was just under the $10 mark for a non Tuesday, non matinee viewing), but it recently rose. Then we have our lovely 15% sales tax to add to the movie ticket cost, and bam, $11.25. Again, that's only at the two multiplexes in this city, and if you chose to go at night instead of an afternoon showing. There are cheaper theatres, but they're not as nice.

When they were advertising for Mania XX on TV here they were talking about how you could go watch Wrestlemania XX at Famous Players for the (I think they mentioned low) price of $23 to $27. I can't remember exactly what it was.

He's used to it by now....and damn I can't believe that I paid almost 30.00 for the DVD (which I am watching for the first time right now and that Goldberg/Lesner match was crazy!) when I could have gone across the street and got it 10.00 cheaper!! DAMN Best Buy!!!

I was watching the Triple-Theat on video last night, and about halfway through or a bit after, I suddenly felt like shit. You know, you feel like you're going to vomit but don't want to?

I ended up going to bed at 8:00 PM because of it, and I didn't go to school today. I don't know if it was the video or just from my sick brother reaching into my cigarette packet to bum smokes.

Having watched Goldberg vs Lesnar this morning, I'm confident my good pal spman is deaf.

Yeah, "Boring" chants did get removed (but Lawler saying "That move wasn't boring!" and Jim Ross talking about impatient fans wasn't), but most everything seemed on par, perhaps a bit muffled and not as loud, but "This Match Sucks" and the rest are all still clearly there.

I still haven't gotten an answer if they edited Jericho's slip off the top rope right before Trish comes out?

I skimmed through it this morning, looks like they did although they did keep in the part where they knock heads with each other.

Its funny on the angle they used where Ultimo is supposed to slip, even though its far away, you can still see his body fall to the ground.

Not an edit or anything, but I want to mention how fucking awesome it was for the NY City display to be on fire once Kane was coming out along with Paul Bearer yelling out "You're no son of mine!" at Kane right before Undertaker came out.

Oh, Victoria's music got edited.

And the part where the beer can hit Austin in the face got cut out much to my disappointment, now I gotta find an online copy of it.

Don't blame the music people....the blame should be on WWE...they should have asked to extend the liscnese to the DVD as well....then we wouldn't have this problem :D

Upon watching the WM DVD and comparing to an online copy I got off Kazaa, WWE actually edited out 2 minutes worth of the Goldberg / Lesnar match. They also cut short Austin's little beer bash in the ring after the match along with the stupid little ATV ride back up the ramp.

If that isn't a work of editing skills, I dunno what is.

Maybe it's just my copy but the reactions for the Goldberg/Lesnar match seem pretty exact to how they were on the PPV. I really can't tell any difference, but maybe it's just me. I still hear plenty of "Hogan" and "This match sucks" and "we want Bret" chants, along with a lot of boos for both men.

That is fucking horrible, even for the match.

But at least it's not as bad as the VHS edition - no video packages, no backstage segments and the Cruiserweight Open and both shows' Tag Team Championship matches are edited-out.

What... The... Fuck...

Sounds like an improvement. Except for the Evolution promo at the beginning on Foley/Rock. That was the best PPV promo in many years.

I'm assuming WWE didn't want to waste time on the VHS version since they probaly get most of their sales from DVD.....

I just bought the DVD for $19.99 will watch this weekend...
