NoCalMike 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 Well Zito's curveball looked sharp as hell against Bernie Williams. Maybe Jeter was just bound to get out of his slump, but I know for a fact that Zito's curveball looked sharper then it has all year against Bernie Williams. Come on Zito..... EVIL~! alkeiper 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 Buster Olney decides to stir my ire by writing another "column" praising the virtues of productive outs. Unfortunately, I do not have time at the present to diseminate it properly, but tomorrow I should have plenty of time to rip it a new one.

Bored 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2004 Barry Zito getting hammered yet again bothers me. He's really going out of his way to drive down his trade value. The A's are now 1-6 since Menechino was activated. He's a curse.
Guest Anglesault Report post Posted April 30, 2004 So much for the "Big Three" I guess someone had to stop sucking for this series, or else the combination of both sucky teams sucking at the same time would cause a vacuum.

Fuzzy Dunlop 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2004 According to PTI, it was our very own Cub fans who complained about Dusty's swearing and got him suspended. This has probably been in the local papers as well, but I've yet to check. If this is true, somebody's a complete idiot, and I don't care if it's just a mommy or daddy with their small children; just try to distract them, take them to get something to drink, anything, but these fools are screwing over their own team by complaining. Only Cub fans like us demand these guys be heros, but they're real men and they can have the occassional slip-up. If you don't want to see people throwing things and yelling curse words, just don't even go to a game; there's no room for these fucking pussies.

They ask the fans (At least at Yankee Stadium) to try and curb their cursing and vulgar outbursts, the million dollar men can do the same. Baseball is one of the few things that a family can go out and see on a weekend and take the children without worrying about the atmosphere.

therealworldschampion 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2004 Phillies need to at least take 2 of 3 against Arizona this weekend. They got Wolf, Padilla, and Milton going for this series and I don't think they have to face Randy Johnson so they have a good chance of doing it.
Gert T 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2004 Interesting gamesmenship between LaRussa & Bowa today. The Cards pitcher apparently had a noticeable spot of pine tar on his hat, so any manager with 1/2 a brain *should* ask to have it checked. Then LaRussa decides to get petty by having Burrell's bat confiscated (despite Pat being 0-4 at that point, not to mention only having a few HR's total for the season). Oh no doubt, it was not "apparent", it looked very questionable, and I am a Cards fan.

Perhaps the fan felt that getting Dusty suspended was the only way to save the Cubs' pitchers. Good move, says I. Phillies need to at least take 2 of 3 against Arizona this weekend. Bored 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2004 Didn't take long for A.J. Pierzynski to get his teammates to hate him. http://www.oaklandtribune.com/Stories/0%2C...18249%2C00.html "He's the cancer in here," said one Giant, who requested anonymity. "The pitchers aren't happy with him. If they can trade him, that would be fine with me. We all know Yorvie (Yorvit Torrealba) can catch this staff." "I've never in all my years seen a catcher who didn't watch video before games," one pitcher said. "He doesn't watch hitters -- other than the Twins games when they're on TV." According to two Giants players, the Padres' Phil Nevin said Pierzynski was criticizing Giants pitchers while Nevin was at the plate. "That did it for me," one Giants pitcher said. "If a pitching staff doesn't have the respect of their catcher, that's it. That's what it's all about. I hate Jackass A.J. and I hate the Giants so I'm LOVING this. Classic. He's gotten no love from me, or Giants fans in general. He hasn't been hitting, hasn't thrown any basestealers out, and has grounded into almost endless rally killing double plays. They should've just started Torrealba. He was more than ready and knew the pitching staff well enough. What a useless trade.
