I'll do that when you pull your own cock out of your mouth.

....how clever.

Besides, I'm not that flexible.

Fuckin', there were a BUNCH of people like that when I saw The Dillinger Escape Plan. I blamed the emo core bands that opened, and the college campus where the venue was located. At least with a metal show, you're guaranteed at least one total weird ass, and a bunch of black t shirt-wearing oafs clubbing each other.

Indie rockers getting into a fight is hilarious. They get huffy, then act soooo fashionably disinterested.

I'm by no means ripped, but I'm generally larger than most of the crowd at indie shows I go to. A few months ago, I started shoving around this drunk, scrawny indie dork that kept bumping into my girlfriend. It was fun.

Was he playing air guitar while lip synching the every word of each song? Thats another undesirable trait that they have.

My favorite was always the college punk shows I'd go to once in a while. Most die-hard punk rockers are small and weak, and keep getting back up. There was also this big brutal sXe mutant that I once punched with a lit cigarette. It sort of turned into a little fracas, but the owner was cool and didn't kick us out. It was probably because I was supposed to go on stage later.

I find myself doing that quite often to catchier lines by Sigur Ros.

I could only imagine the zone one would have to get into to master the air guitar and vocals to Sigur Ros. It would have to be an orgasmic experience rife with rolling back eye balls and seductive hip girations.

There was a nazi at Dillinger. I don't know what the hell that guy was thinkin'..That shit might fly at a big anonymous Pantera show, but not at a small intimate show full of punks, socially conscious people, and grind freaks.

I've actually witnessed people attempt rocking out at a Sigur Ros show, by the way. I admired their spirit, even if it didn't work.

The only way I could "rock out" to Sigur Ros is if I had a few extra drinks...and my stationary stance became a little boggled - which would translate into an unintentional yet extremely dizzied groove.

I should listen to DEP. I want to. Is it worth my time?

Most the rocking was because the band's drummer is really fucking intense on stage. At one point, he was playing so hard he broke part of his kit. Rather than stop, he just played with what was still standing, while a roadie did repairs.

It could be. Judging by your tastes, you'd probably be a lot more open to the newer stuff, and the Mike Patton material, as it's a whole lot less grind, and a lot more..something else. The guitarists are both absolutely insane, and drummer Chris Pennie is what you get when you take a jazz drummer and crank him up evil.

Brain Benoit, the original singer, does nothing but scream, but he's good at it, so it depends if you're into that sort of thing or not. The Mike Patton stuff is well, Mike Patton, so the vocals are naturally all over the map, and completely overwhelming. Their new singer is a mixture of the two. He hits the classic Patton high notes, can growl a little, and shreiks until his face, neck, and extremities are all purple.

They're not really a metal band, though. They're sort of a mixture of Mr. Bungle and Converge.

If you're going to get anything, get the EP with Patton called Irony is a Dead Scene. It's pretty much universally awesome.

Sass, you KNOW we're cool, but come on... you HAD to know he'd come back to the board once you started running his column. If only to see what people thought.

I mean, you had to. You're ( a lot) smarter than I am, and I would have seen that a mile away.

Maybe. I'll read it later and we'll banter about it. It was a pretty cute hissy fit if I remember correctly.

I've checked things out to veirfy it and Collins *isn't* Chris.

Chris has told me he isn't interested in posting here either so I'll take his word for it.

More than likely Collins is probably one of the posters at SpyderTwist since the posting style does fit some of Chris' regulars work there.

I would not be the least bit surprised to learn that Tom Collins is Jubuki. In fact, I'd be more shocked to learn that he isn't him. I'll admit to being kind of in the middle because between the similar musical tastes, ornery posting styles, and self-deprication in the Puro folder it would all seem too obvious. I'd like to think he would be more subtle.

Did you manage to turn down the death metal for a bit and waste some minutes from your modlife yet?

As far as classic threads. I'll say the Nay-no. There was one good FK Teale flame (he needs to post more), Jingus' annyeurism was nice, and Sass fucking laid out the plots and subplots of the secrets of the universe or something in one of his dissertations.

However, Incandenza was seriously being gay with Alina, and I posted like, 4 times about wrestling. It stays dead.

It's nice we both have actions we regret.
