Guest Anglesault Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 When will someone with some kind of power let Edge know that the Spear is a stupid idea for a finisher to begin with, let alone for someone with his build and the way he connects? Everyone who jobs to that crappy move looks like a total loser jackass. Someone needs to remove the Spear from Edge's finisher lit.
iliketurtles Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 Let alone the fact he's got like 50 other good moves he's used in the past that he could use instead? I guess now that Goldberg is gone it's free game, but it is a stupid move. Edge is better than doing such a simple move like that.
Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 Goldberg can get away with it as a finisher/set-up move, since he looks like he's trying to actually kill someone with it. Edge's is the wussified watered down version. See also: Tombstone Piledriver; Undertaker; Kane.
Damaramu Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 Edge just kind of runs into your midsection and then drops to his knees. He never runs through someone like Rhyno and Goldberg do.
JoeDirt Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 Yeah, at least the Gore seems like it might hurt. Edge just isn't big enough to pull off a credible spear. It's lame that it's his finisher.

It's lame that it's his finisher. Even lamer: Ric Flair, the man who would get up from almost anything back in the old NWA, and wrestling 50 minute matches, jobs to it clean. Flair kicked out of everything anything!!
Masked Man of Mystery Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 Hey, it's better than the World's Strongest Slam. But what ever happened to the Edgecution or the Edge-o-Matic? He used to use those as finishers.
jester Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 Edge should be using the spear as a takedown, not as a finisher. And yes, I can't think of a worse finisher in use by WWE today.

And yes, I can't think of a worse finisher in use by WWE today. The F-U. It's a freakin' firemans carry. Evidence is shown in Friday the 13th Part V when Tommy does it to someone through a table. HES HARDCORE! HES HARDCORE! HES HARDCORE!
Guest Ace Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 The F-U does suck. They're wasting a great move name with that stupid glorified Fireman's. Garrison Cade's top rope elbow drop is pretty lame for a finisher (at least in 2004), IMO. Of course, he only beats Val Venis on Heat with it every week, as opposed to pinning main eventers with it.
Kahran Ramsus Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 Anybody that uses the Superkick. Terrible finisher, from Chris Adams to Chuck Palumbo.
Guest Nobody in Particular Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 Spear. World's Strongest Slam. F-U. Superkick. While they all suck in one way or another, they're nothing compared to the Worm.

While they all suck in one way or another, they're nothing compared to the Worm. I can match that one...OK, no I can't. The Worm is the worst finisher ever.....wait....there is one. JIM ROSS' STUNNER!
Guest Ace Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 I know it's been mentioned before, but the Clothesline From Hell sucks too. Sure, it looks fairly impressive when done right and sold like it's death, usually with a flip or something, but geez, any move looks fairly buyable as a finisher when the person taking it sells that much. You could use a freakin' hip toss for a finisher if you're going to oversell it like that.
Guest Ace Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 I stand corrected: No amount of selling can justify the use of The Worm as a finisher. That's a crime against humanity.
Guest GreatMuta Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 If Tyson Tomko uses the botched kick, than that my friends will become the worst finisher.
PsychoDriver Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 I don't see anything topping the People's Elbow, The F-U and The Worm. I really hate the "RKO" as well.

I'd have to disagree about the RKO. When done right (aka not botched) it can look like a legit good finisher. It's basically a diamond cutter, and we all know that was a main event finisher for several years.
Guest Staggomatic Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 Val Venis's Money Shot is pretty lame now in 2004.

Yeah, I wasn't putting down the move really just that Orton's execution is so horrible at times that it's hard to buy it as a true finisher. But I'm sure this board has already had enough Orton discussion
Guest Donners Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 I'm surprised the Axe Kick hasn't been mentioned. I cringe every time I see it, because it just requires such a blatent set-up and really looks quite clumsy.
razazteca Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 The only person who can do the Elbow Drop proper is RANDY SAVAGE, everyone else just looks weak. I hate all forms of the Ace Crusher done today it would include the Hardys Twist of Fate and the RKO by Orton. All forms of the splash other than Eddie Guerrero Froggie style are lame.
The Amazing Rando Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 If Tyson Tomko uses the botched kick, than that my friends will become the worst finisher. How dare you say those things about the almight DROPKick! May he slip as he kicks off your head!

The only time it looked good was when used in tag team matches but in solo matches it made Booker T look bad.
Guest Trivia247 Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 Heres how Fucked up the WWE world is... Kane vs Rhyno... Rhyno hits his Gore and it hardly levels Kane... Edge comes in hits his Spear and Magically Kane goes down like he was hit by a truck. Out of the three of them, Rhyno, Goldberg and Edge, Rhyno at least in ECW had the most Violent Looking Spear. But now is stuck in lowcard hood so Edge MUST have a more superior version now.
Guest GreatMuta Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 When's the last time Edge used his submission manuver(name)? I actually thought that was better than anything else he's done as a finisher
Guest Trivia247 Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 When's the last time Edge used his submission manuver(name)? I actually thought that was better than anything else he's done as a finisher around the last time we saw the Trailer hitch and Val Venis Version of a leg submission
The Amazing Rando Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 Edge's submission hold was a standing Nagata Lock right? I almost thought he was going to do it tonight in the tag when he did the crooked half crab...but it was not meant to be.
razazteca Posted April 27, 2004 Report Posted April 27, 2004 When was the last time Rhyno Gored someone thru a table?

Hmmm if you referring to something resembling a sharpshooter turned round into almost a anklelock position..... then yea I um guess.
