Guest Astro Report post Posted April 29, 2004 Michael Vick denies gay internet rumors Wednesday, April 28, 2004 Atlanta Falcons quarterback Michael Vick took to the V-103 airwaves Tuesday morning to clear up those persistent rumors swirling about his sexuality. Now the issue is murkier than ever. According to Loren "Hollywood" Henderson, Vick called reps at the "Frank Ski Morning Show" last week to ask for some airtime to discuss a recent fake Internet news story quoting Vick as saying: "I've been a gay man hiding behind lies about my sexuality for years." The story, posted by something called the Global Associated News, initially looks real -- until you click on the story's sourcing link at the bottom. Browsers are then informed: "Ha! Did someone get you? The story you read was a complete hoax! If you are reading this page, it's likely that you read a 'fake' story from the 'Global Associated News'-- a totally bogus news source." Apparently, Vick didn't get the joke. On Tuesday, the NFL star addressed the issue, telling Ski and sports director Chuck Smith by phone: "I won't even feed into that . . . Everybody who knows me, knows how I get down. It's not even an issue." On rating the effectiveness level of Vick's denial, well, Buzz Central won't even feed into that. Before hanging up, Vick told V-103 listeners, "We [the Falcons] had a good draft this past weekend, and I'm looking forward to giving the fans something to be excited about!" And by "fans," we're certain that Vick meant the ladies. ------------ Gay Community Welcomes Professional Football Player Michael Vick April 28, 2004 He's here, he's queer, and his name is Michael Vick. Shocking sports fans around the globe, NFL representatives for Michael Vick issued a public statement today confirming rumors that began circulating earlier this week about his sexual preferences and homosexual lifestyle. :-: :-: In an interview with UJ reporters, Michael Vick spoke candidly and said, "I've been a gay man hiding behind lies about my sexuality for years, and it feels good to finally have this out in the open. I love playing professional football and rough physical contact on the field, however, I enjoy male contact off the field as well. I know that some of my fans will not understand my lifestyle and there may be some adjustments around the lockerroom with my teammates, but I'm confidant that they will accept me for who I am and continue will to respect me as an athlete." :-: :-: Favio Creskin, president of gay organization -CHUG (Celebrating Homosexuality by Uniting Gays) applauded the courage of Michael Vick by saying, "This is a giant step for gays everywhere, as this announcement dispells beliefs that most gays are feminine and flamboyant. Michael Vick is a muscular, masculine, temple of testosterone that any gay man would be proud to bow before." :-: :-:

Guest Crazy Dan Report post Posted April 29, 2004 Who gives a crap if Vick is gay, or not? What he does in private is none of my concern. Vick, as long as he stays healthy, has "Star" written all over him. He is very entertaining to watch. And he is a difference maker. Few QB's can win a game single handedly, like he can. So, I could care less if he is gay or not. Let's stick to the issue like will Mora be a good head coach, or will Vick stay healthy, and if he does, should I take him for my Fantasy Football team? Last time I checked, we are in the 21st Century. And there are far more topics and issues that warrant discusion than wheather an athlete is gay or not. And I like Vick as a player, gay or not. Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 The NFL needs a really good player to come out just to get it over with. Like, Kordell should have come out that one year he played well.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 29, 2004 yeah but the shitty season that followed would have been attributed to his gayness.

Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 29, 2004 what they need is some mega mega star to come out...I used to suspect Mark McGwire for some reason...I know he had a kid and ex-wife and now has a hot wife but something seemed "gay" about him for some reason. I wish Mike Piazza just came out...his career isn't that hot nemore...he already was a sure fire HOFer and would have shut the whole "gays can't play" bullshit for good. Ripper 0 Report post Posted April 29, 2004 what was even funnier was the women in atlanta calling in saying "Oh no, he better not be." I'm like, you're not fucking him anyway, what the fuck difference would it make." Like when guys get pissed that some hot famous girl gets married. Like the choice was get married or fuck you. I'm like, you're not fucking him anyway, what the fuck difference would it make." Like when guys get pissed that some hot famous girl gets married. Like the choice was get married or fuck you. Guys get pissed when hot women get married? Why? We are guys, it's not like most of them were thinking about marrying the hot woman anyway. I know women get REAL pissed when a famous guy gets married, but I don't notice many guys getting pissed.
Guest Redhawk Report post Posted April 30, 2004 I've seen guys get pissed -- or at least disappointed -- when hit women get married. My roommate, for example, damn near threw a party when he heard Jennifer Garner was getting a divorce. Also, you know guys do things like count down to when the Young Chick Du Juor turns 18, as if she's going to turn 18 and then fuck us because it's no longer child rape. It's all dumb -- as is the women getting mad if a guy is gay thing -- but that's just how we are. We like the idea of hope and possibility.
