Guest slacklet Report post Posted April 30, 2004 http://www.pwinsider.com/ViewArticle.asp?id=2183&p=1 MORE ON ANGLE'S INJURY, RVD-WWE CONTRACT UPDATE, WEEKEND SCHEDULE As you would probably assume, Kurt Angle is very concerned about his most recent neck problems. He has sought feedback from a number of people in and around the business as to what they feel he should do for treatment this time around. He has considered many different procedures before deciding to go back to Dr. Jho. There are a number of people in the business who feel that he probably should just have the fusion surgery since, unlike Scott Hall (who had the Jho procedure and wrestled for years afterwards), Angle's bouts are very bump intensive, which means that the continual pounding undoes the Jho surgery fairly quickly. Angle has known all along that he would most probably need to get the fusion surgery down the road. He had just hoped to put it off until his career was over. Sources close to the situation have told me that WWE and Rob Van Dam are very close to agreeing to a new contract for RVD. His current deal expires in June, but from what I have been told getting the new deal signed is just a formality at this point. The Raw brand returns to action tonight with a house show in Amarillo, TX. They head to Lubbock, TX tomorrow night, before hitting Yuma, AZ on Sunday and then ending their run with a live Raw in Phoenix, AZ on Monday night. The Smackdown group goes back on the road tomorrow night, starting in El Paso, TX. On Sunday that will be in San Angelo, TX before heading to Odessa, TX on Monday and finishing the tour on Tuesday with the Smackdown taping in Tucson, AZ. As always, if you go to any of these shows please send us a report! I really can't blame RVD at this point. The indy scene is shaky right now, he should just be thankful he has a secure, high-profile job that pays well. He really doesn't have anything left to prove, and if he does he's probably not motivated enough to try. That's what WWE politics will do for your career. razazteca 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2004 I'm surprised that WWE is doing shows in San Angelo, its a small college town. Where are going to do the show.......at the minor league hockey rink?
Detox 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2004 I think as soon as RVD signs the contract and it is official he should be in for a huge push maybe even a world title run I was hoping that he would finally turn heel last night on Smackdown and team with the Dudleys and Heyman to form a ECW renegade type faction..Eddy and RVD could draw money in a title feud, their feud over the IC title a while back had a great string of matches
cabbageboy 0 Report post Posted April 30, 2004 Patience, my friend. The RVD heel turn on Eddie will happen eventually, but last night was just the first SMDN meeting of the two. Gotta have them as friends for a while before the inevitable heel turn. Might could even milk it till WM 21 if they wanted to. And yes given SMDN's current roster giving the title to RVD after he signs a new deal is a no brainer.
Guest Choken One Report post Posted April 30, 2004 yeah it sounds like they are building up a "rvd sells soul to the devil" type deal with heyman behind him...
