Identify film for my column, possible Fred Savage

Recommended Posts

Need more movie help. This one sounds halfway familiar, but I can't place it. It almost sounds like something out of Goonies.

Also, here's an obscure movie I'm hoping you can help me out with. The trouble is, I'm not even sure if it's a movie, or if it's a TV drama from the 80s. I saw it in a hotel room back in the late 80s/early 90s, and I was too young to remember much. The only part I remember is a boy who has run away from home (maybe Fred Savage?) gets a ride from a man and an old lady. Just then, on the radio announces to be on the lookout for a woman with only three fingers on her right hand because she's a wanted criminal. Finally, we see the old lady take off her leather gloves, and we see that she only has three fingers on her right hand. She dips a rag in chloroform, and then puts it over the boy's face. That's all I can remember.

Cloak and Dagger

I remember being obsessed with the three-fingered lady because I had this strange fascination with amputees when I was a child (this lady, Luke Skywalker after losing his arm, the drummer from Def Leppard, some local kid who got his legs chopped off by a train, etc.)

Can't be Goonies obviously, Anne Ramsey had half a tonuge, not missing fingers (yes I know prostheics, I'm rambling brainstorms)

Not much in Savage's IMBD listing fits the profile (The Wizard and Little Monsters are the only ones that seem to fit)

Maybe somewhere more along the lines of "Stand By Me"/"White Water Summer" than Goonies

Speaking of the Nintendo-tie in....GOD that movie(?) was horrible. If I wanted to see losers playing Nintendo games all day I'll play in front of mirrors.

I haven't seen it since the late 80's, so memory is murky, but for some reason now, my favorite scene I can remember is when the precursor to Comic Book Guy is playing the video game disc with the spy data on it, and right as he beats the game and the spy data comes up, he catches a bullet in the back of the head

It was Cloak & Dagger

It had ET's Henry Thomas and Dabney Coleman in duel roll, as the Super Agent and Henry Thomas's dad. I dealt with a video game that had a secret chip in it. And three fingered woman and her husband, both of whom were a old couple.

Whats even more gayer is the trivia game that they came up with for the movie where you won free games or a trip somewhere. Some dumb ass questions that unless you are anal retentive about EVERY little thing about the movie (i.e. What kind of sandwich did Fred Savage's character make as a midnight snack)

Then again my sister remebers the way a character buttered his bread in War Games as something unique so maybe they were on to something

Bologina and cheese

No it was some stupid shit like peanut butter, bananas and marshmellows. (my cousin was really into that movie so he made me watch it multiple times, it was okay but nothing that I'd see more than once) I guess something inocuous yet quirky enough to remeber in case of some dopey trivia contest. Still is a rather dumb question though in the "Wha? Who cares" sort of way
