In the begining I was losing my mind waiting for something to happen, but by the 25 min. mark I was oddly entertained and thought Gus Van Sant was doing a good job of capturing a typical High School with typical kids. I didn't think I was as great as the critcs said it was. I also thought it got pretentious in areas after the shooting started. I also hated the very last scene.
