Raw Battle Royal

I truly hope it's Jericho but it looks like it's going to be Kane as Mulatto Heat mentioned they got Benoit vs Kane lined up for the house shows. There is a Raw in Winnipeg coming up (Early July off the top of my head?) so that's probably when Jericho'll get his shot. Jericho will probably wrestle Tomko at the PPV and Matt Hardy will probably wrestle Christian as evidenced by the start of their angle last night on Raw.

Shawn Michaels VS Triple H - Hell in a Cell at Bad Blood - Well... Let's just say that it won't be like anything we've ever seen before.

Yes it will. What could they possibly do that we've not seen before? Unless they decide to go full on technical match in the HIAC and not involve the HIAC spots, it'll be something we've seen before.

Predictions:

1) Kane wins and ends his 'feud' with Matt next week by killing him in the back before the BR. (Matt would be replaced by Tomko, if he's not in already).

2) Christian and Matt start feuding the week after the Rumble based on the Trish/Lita match. (Christian helps Trish win the match, and maybe he does a Unprettier on her, and Matt can't help because he got attacked by Kane already).

3) HHH somehow gets eliminated by HBK, setting up their match.

4) Orton/Benjamin/Edge have their program.

5) Jericho feuds with Batista, so he can maybe get built up nicely. Have Batista feud with him because he's a threat to HHH's title shot. Then eventually, we can either have a Jericho/HHH feud or a Jericho/Benoit feud, or both.

If your running the WWE- why waste Benoit and Y2J when we all know HHH/HBK will be headlining? It would be a waste. Your also pretty much guaranteed a good HIAC match between HHHBK. The WWE also knows people will order just for HIAC. I would wait for the july PPV so Benoit/Y2J will have more importance then it will get being on a PPV with a HIAC match. Then they can have a slight chance of headlining the PPV. Makes sense guys.

Not to be a picky bastard, but it's a BATTLE ROYALE! There's no mention of the word "Rumble" in it. (looks in Choken Ones direction) GAH~!

Pretty right about everything there, so it seems.

1. That's probably what will happen, but that wouldn't do anything for the Kane/Hardy program, and would more-than-likely just be bad planning, unless they can pull an 'end of SmackDown!', which I doubt, but that's ok.

And no, Tyson Tomko is not in the Battle Royale yet.

2. That seems about right - I'd absolutely love a Christian/Hardy feud, and if it hadn't been for Jericho, that's what I would've anticipated happening for WrestleMania XX.

3. That would set up a feud well, but why exactly would HBK do that? He'd need a motive - he might get away with saying that the thing between them is not over, which he said pre-Backlash.

Actually, that could be a worthy motive for a worthy blow-off.

4. Hmmm... I don't know if both should challenge Orton, because that could probably be strung-out until SummerSlam.

5. Yeah, Batista isn't doing much right now - he seems to just be waiting in line. That might be obvious stalling due to Jericho's announcement last week, but yeah, it would do well for Jericho to slay Batista pre-title shot, and hopefully, reign.

If these rumors of a HHH/HBK hell in a cell are true, consider me pumped the fuck up. And bring on Benoit/Jericho, I can't wait. RAW is ON FIRE.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

Even the preliminaries are gonna kick ass.

Is there a July PPV fro the Raw competitors to be on? Anyone know?

This may never happen but geting Kane involved in the title scene might just give Hardy something more to do...I always loved the days when there lots of people involved in the title scene...think DX/Hart Foundation/UT/Patriot/Vader timeframe...it's a lot like what's going on now with Edge and Benoit holding the tag titles, feuding with Evolution which also gets Tajiri involved...a great scenario would be letting Kane go monster in the BR...I know it's been done a million times but this is the match that Kane of all people should be great at...but keep his attention on Lita and Matt at the same time...I'd like too see Kane come out and beat the hell out of Evolution once maybe after HHH criticizes his title chances...have Matt help out Benoit...having these elements together makes the Raw brand seem like there isn't such a gap between upper and midcard...it keeps things fresh and will build credible contenders

You know, an Elimination Chamber might be just the thing a RAW PPV needs.

Make it happen, Vinnie Mac. EC at Unforgiven.

I was going to say that the Elimination Chamber should be something that, at the very least, occurred once every 12 months, but the Chamber at SummerSlam was only 9 months after the first one, and they didn't seem so close together - but the future ones probably would if used on a regular basis.

The Elimination Chamber right now would be an awesome spectacle, no doubt, but it would just be going all out (at a show like Unforgiven) instead of keeping us wanting more and using the title picture conservatively.

And we've already had one ***** match in the Chamber - is now (soon) the time for another?

The battle royal next week will probably be a let down or predictable. A start time of 10:55 or something :(

Actually, with Raw at the moment, I'm expecting a winner.

True, it could be really good, since RAW has been on the upswing as of late. If Kane wins and gets the title shot at Bad Blood, I hope he finally remembers how to wrestle and work a match.

As I said, I think that Chris Benoit VS Kane would be an awesome 'David VS Goliath' premise, but I don't want Kane going over just yet - I want Benoit to have a good, long run.

But with that match, there's not really anything that could separate it from now and several months down the track. Then again, Benoit doesn't have to lose the World Heavyweight Championship to Kane.

Don't worry, Kane has .001% chance of winning the belt from Benoit.

Benoit and Kane kind of had a clashing of the styles before but this time I'm seeing a pretty good because of several factors. Benoit'll be up for the challenge as always and Kane'll want to prove himself in the ring since this is such a big opportunity. Benoit's done well against the big men lately and has picked up some fun manuevers to take the big guys down. We've already got at least a couple of counters for the chokeslam, sharpshooter, Kane's big boot and one for the headbutt (which I hate but anyway). The struggling bit Benoit's been doing lately for his submissions ought to fit in nicely here too. I think we'll have a good stretch run at the end with Benoit letting his opponent take lots of offence like he always does (plus Kane'll be the unstoppable monstor) but Kane will need a lot (I say Kane's going to let out a new high range offensive manuever here) to pin Benoit because he's the champ so there should be nothing anticlimatic here. As for the start and the middle of the match they can pull off some good stuff as long as there's thought there to string things together well and there definitely will be because of it being a PPV. Kane's got enough offence to keep things varied in the beginning and throughout so I don't see any problems there.

I just noticed that the Benoit vs Kane match on the Friday house show is going to be no DQ. Foreshadowing?

Yeah, agreed about all of that there, but the thing is, a Kane title reign a while down the track wouldn't bother me, and I actually think that the possibility is there of a Kane/Matt Hardy feud for the title. Am I crazy?

As for the DQ stip... I can't see anything at this point that would really warrant that - I think a classic singles match would be the way to go.

And you have Kane a 0.01% chance of going over for the title, yet I have a whole 1% to Eugene!

Because you may be worried that a face/face match would be a tough sell to headline a PPV with and would rather bloster the buyrate with a match that has headlined many successful PPVs.

I don't remember any 5 star Elim Chamber matches.

Plus, do the big ass MEs at shows like GAB and Unforgiven. WM, SumSla, and RR sell themselves.

I don't think an elimination Chamber is what WWE needs to boost buyrates.

Considering the match quality of the last one (and the long dullish second half of the first), I don't think many people will care whos in it. (Except for stupid marks who would buy a PPV to see Kevin Nash headline it)

I think the Elimination Chamber will do more to ensure that an otherwise okay PPV gets a good buyrate rather than sending a show over the top. The PPV buying sudience isn't large enough for huge jumps.

My question is will some guys do double duty on Raw?

I think Kane wins and we get an intergender 6 person tag at Bad Blood with

Jericho/Hardy/Lita v. Christian/Tomko/Trish

Damn the Jericho-Benoit match would be cool, but yeah I guess save it for later.

I thought that the last Elimination Chamber was a complete insult to the match type - they were more focused on getting the boring-as-fuck Goldberg/Triple H program off the ground that they didn't even give us a worthy match - and if it was solely for that Goldberg/Triple H feud, then there was no fucking reason for an Elimination Chamber anyway.

But I found the first one to be worth *****. Awesome match.

Hey Gert, I *hope* you have sarcastic opinions there. I'll just assume that your booking there was through the eyes of some stupid WWE creative team members.

Without using the Scott Keith system, what made it five stars? I can think of a few things that drags it down, but I'll save them as the counter.

Reasons. NOW.

Already Challenged. No Response.

The whole last 15 minutes was dull as hell, knocking it down AT LEAST *. The middle portion (starting with Booker T's entrance into the match) was pretty weak, and nothing notable happening at all until Botch-Van-Dam nearly killed HHH going for a stupid splash off the top of one of the internal chambers. So that would make it around *** or so. I'm sure there's more to nit-pick, but it's not my job so I'll leave it at that.
