JoeDirt 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2004 What indy guys out there could you see in the WWE? Obviously a lot of the top indy guys don't fit the "WWE style". Homicide or Samoa Joe, for example, really wouldn't fit into the WWE's style. But there are others Vince is crazy not to sign. For example: The Backseat Boyz: I can really see Acid and Kashmere getting over as a Hardy Boyz-type tag team in the WWE. Sure, they're not big, but Vince could use some great, charismatic tag teams to give the tag division a boost. Why not these guys? Colt Cabana: He's not too small, he can work, and he's charismatic as hell. It's just hard not to like the guy. He'd be perfect in the WWE. Hotstuff Hernandez: Yeah, he's not the greatest, but he's okay for a big man, and we all know Vince loves his "hosses", right? Surprised he's not in the WWE, to be honest. Others: Alex Shelley? The Briscoes? Anyone else come to mind for you guys?
PsychoDriver 0 Report post Posted May 11, 2004 These are all wrestlers I think could really work in the WWE (of course they'd be jobbing to Bob Holly in a week though due to the WWE's booking genius) CM Punk Adam Pearce Colt Cabana AJ Styles Chris Daniels Brad Bradley
Guest NateRizzle Report post Posted May 12, 2004 CM Punk and Christopher Daniels. AJ Styles is too spotty. Bryan Danielson wouldn't be well received by the marks. The Backseats are too small for WWE.

Masked Man of Mystery 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2004 CM Punk and Christopher Daniels. AJ Styles is too spotty. Bryan Danielson wouldn't be well received by the marks. The Backseats are too small for WWE. I coud see Am Drag working in a Dean Malenko style iceman gimmick, or going the blatant patriot route, even though I'd personally ahte the gimmick. The main problem he has is selling the concept behind his finisher, because you kinda have to think about for a second nbefore you realise how painful that hold should be. I'd guess that all things considered he's have less of a chance than others because of his age. But I guess Rico is in his 40's, so who knows.

(and to save everyone the time of maybe reading it... all it really says is that Daniels in really really good (earthshattering!?), but would be misused in by Vince and Co.) Lord of The Curry 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2004 American Dragon would be the picture-perfect wrestler to bring in as Benoits protegee. They could do so much with the angle and the eventual match between the two would be a fucking dream.
thuganomics 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2004 Only two pop in to my head immediately: 1. Abyss: agile as all get out but still a hoss. Would definitely make sense. 2. Elix Skipper: solid cruiserweight and he's a minority, to help them swing away from that racist mindset many people still view wrestling having.

Guest Jimbo Report post Posted May 12, 2004 Christopher Daniels is pretty small himself, guys...he just looks big compared to really small guys like Styles, Homicde, etc. The other hting I've realized through reading people like Samoa Joe's, CM Punk's, Allison Danger's, Jimmy Rave's and other's livejournal's is that I think they really enjoy being out on the indy cicuit. It probaly has to do with the fact they are some of the most successful, but the fact still remains that for most of them, it is FUN for them work go across the country working wrestling shows as they please. Read Joe's journal some time...he has all these great stories about just working out, haning around the [O]rigin gym, fooling around with other pals coming for Cali shows, and all the other road trips. He's probably making a decent amount of cash for what he does, and he gets to pick how and when he does it. Why would he give that up to move cross country, get stuck in OVW, get jobbed out of his mind, and really have nothing positive to show for it unless you think wasting 5 years at a near minimum wage sallary in Louisville is good.... AJ Styles has had some great matches in ROH, but WWE will look at his body of work in NWATNA, not ROH and it will be the first thing that pops into their head. LucharesuFan619 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2004 Barber, what makes you think you're qualified to even to know if he's ready or not? What the hell makes any of the people posting in this thread - hell, on the Internet - have the credentials to be able to say, "[insert name here] is ready for the WWE." Are you so obsessed with me over an issue that's been long gone for over a year that you're willing to make yourself look dumb? Because that's what you're doing by blaming me for something everyone on this board does. BTW, to answer your question - I, like most everyone else in this thread and on this board, am a fan of pro wrestling. I - with the help of millions of other fans - decide who is ready for WWE. If I don't think they're ready, I don't watch their matches when they come on WWE TV and they get fired because WWE realizes they're useless.
thecitythesky 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2004 i'm still confused... is Daniels ready as you stated in your editorial.? OR do you think that Daniels isn't ready as you stated in your preface to said piece and thereby "useless".? ............................. inquiring minds want to know. EDIT: i had to change "worthless" to "useless." lest i imply that you think that Daniels has no value as opposed to serving no purpose.
LucharesuFan619 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2004 To clarify: You're right...kinda - I used the wrong phrase in "isn't ready." He is ready. The problem is that it wouldn't be in the best interest of his career. So, from that perspective, he's NOT ready for the big time yet because it wouldn't be in the best interest of his career; that's what I meant.
