bob_barron Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 Holy shit! Mean Girls only dropped to 10 million??? That's insane. I guess me seeing the movie again really helped.
Dangerous A Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 I hope Troy does well. It really deserves it and is a fine movie. Nice to see a good movie like Mean Girls not lose too much business while pure shit like Van Helsing dropped off big time. I really can't stress enough how much I hated Van Helsing. Is it just me, or am I the only one who is NOT excited or enthused about seeing Shrek 2? I am just not feeling that movie for some reason.
2GOLD Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 I'm more pleased with the business of "Man on Fire" than anything else. Denzel as a bad ass seems to equal big money.
bob_barron Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 The chick flick trailer version of Shrek 2 really pisses me off and has wained my interest for it. I just wish they could make it a straight up comedy and not deal with the fact that yes indeed Shrek being an ugly ogre could hurt his romantic life. Hopefully Rupert Everett is really funny as the prince to save what could be a shitty storyline
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 From last week: 1. Troy ($50 - 65 Million) 2. Van Helsing 3. Mean Girls / Breakin All The Rules 4. Breakin All The Rules / Mean Girls 5. Man On Fire Just came up wrong with Troy. It me awhile to get into Shrek, but I become a fan. I'll probably go see Shrek 2. I hear Antonio Banderas character is quite funny in it.

bob_barron Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 They have another great voice cast (Cleese, Everett, Banderas) so unless they schmaltz it up- I can't see how it would suck
Tawren Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 Troy made about what I expected. I think it'll drop to 30-35 mil next week. I think Van Helsing will drop to 10-15 mil and then finish around 130 mil in the end. Shrek 2, I see it making 45-55 mil next week, taking the #1 spot (duh).
Guest NaturalBornThriller4:20 Posted May 16, 2004 Report Posted May 16, 2004 Next week: 1. Shrek 2 (I agree with Tawren, $45 - $55Million) 2. Troy (I don't see Shrek 2 hurting it's business much, although there are adults that are fans of the 1st movie) 3. Van Helsing 4. Mean Girls 5. Breakin All The Rules / Man On Fire ?
