UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted June 14, 2004 Yep, hopefully can get them up and runnin' soon. Although the WCW ones (outside of what was found on WCW Magazines and during WCW's big publicized ratings war period) can be tricky huntin' down.
UseTheSledgehammerUh 0 Report post Posted June 17, 2004 Interesting...these two results come on back-to-back days. *** WCW Monday Nitro 01-20-97, The United Center, Chicago, Illinois 8. Masahiro Chono defeated David Taylor via submission with the STF. - Taylor "tapped out". *** Clash of the Champions XXXIV 01-21-97, Wisconsin Center, Milwaukee, Wisconsin 1. Dean Malenko defeated WCW Cruiserweight Champion Ultimo Dragon (with Sonny Onoo) to win the title via submission with The Texas Cloverleaf, despite Onoo's distraction. - Dragon "tapped out". Note that it was WCW, not the WWF, who brought the popular UFC-style "tap out" to television. Also... *** WCW Monday Nitro 01-27-97, Veterans Memorial Auditoriom, Des Moines, Iowa 10. Hugh Morrus pinned Chris Benoit after the "No Laughing Matter" moonsault when Benoit was taken down by a Kevin Sullivan chairshot. - The referee was distracted by a woman (Miss Jackie, making her WCW debut) jumping the rail to attack Woman. - After the match, Gene Okerlund interviewed Kevin Sullivan and Jimmy Hart, who revealed the woman (Miss Jackie) was who Sullivan chose Woman over 10 years ago. Miss Jackie verbally attacked Woman and Debra McMichael. The WWF did this "girl on girl" out of the crowd attack pretty close to this one, with Chyna attacking Marlena, right? Just two ideas they grabbed from Nitro during the "War".
