AIDS.

Guest Choken One

I didn't see the match but I heard all about it and something alarmed me was that I heard they SHARED blades.

This seemingly went un-noticed by the fanbase.

I haven't heard of anything in regards of how WWE tests for AIDS.

For a Company that employs young men and female living on the road and perform a activity that often has severe blood loss...

I wonder how and even IF...WWE tests for it.

I worry for Eddie, especially since he was in a match with someone with a reputation for backstage anal rape...

Austin and Rock shared the gig a couple of times.

However, when I saw the picture of all that blood, I thought the same thing as Choken.

You see...Im not sure about that.

The workers are independent contractors...they don't even have Medical Insurance the last i remember.

It would be up to the workers themself to check themselves...

The Porn Industry Mandates Aids testing...The Wrestling Industry ought to as well considering the fact they have alot of exposed cuts and blood loss.

So what do you do? If you test for AIDS and it comes up positive, do you fire the wrestler? Cos I'm fairly sure that's unfair dismissal, and justifiably so. Or does the wrestler just never blade? Never mind sharing blades, if two wrestlers are bleeding and the blood from one gets into the cut of the other I'm pretty sure that could be enough for AIDS to be transferred. Who can we think of who's never, or very very rarely bled any way except apparent hardway? And it's normally only main-eventers/upper-midcarders who are into matches that much in America and so would "stand out".

Kane. Protected by a mask for most of his career, but I don't recall him blading since unmasking.

Goldberg. Only saw the last year of WCW and his WWE run, but I don't remember a bladejob.

Lesnar? I know he wiped Hogan's blood on his own chest, but has he gigged? I don't recall it happening.

Benoit. Trips and HBK were both gushing at Mania, Benoit wasn't. He probably has many times, but i don't remember ever seeing it.

Big Show? Again, i can't remember it taking place.

Steiner?

Booker T?

Shawn Michaels, Vince McMahon and Triple H (oh, and Flair) are the usual suspects now Rock and Austin are gone. Most others don't bleed that regularly that I can think of.

One time that stands out is when Taker broke the baseball bat over Show's head.

Show didn't bleed that badly, (I think it may have been a trickle) but it looked perfect and made one of my favorite moments ever.

I think he bled in the Vengeance three way with Big Show and Angle.

Was it him or Taker that bled insanely in the Hell in a Cell match?

Taker gigged so bad his blood was dripping into Brocks MOUTH when he was pinning him.

I have always wondered about this too, I hope Vince does test the wrestlers, considering my 2 alltime favs love to bleed like pigs.

That match was sick. Even Heyman's blade job was nasty.

You could fire the guy...On grounds of proof that hardway Cuts are very common and they present themselfs to be a danger to the other workers.

It's the same as Adult Entertainers. If you have this disease...then you aren't able to perform your job.

I'd imagine that There HAD to been a AIDS infected worker at some point, because of the lifestyle they live and the constant blood exposure.

P.S Can we not talk about who has and Hasn't gigged and let's shy from making assumptions like someone did about Bradshaw. This is a serious topic that should be explored.

Unless Choken can provide actual written proof from somebody within the bussiness saying as such I don't believe it. Its a bussiness worth around half a billion dollars, so to think they get stingey when handing out razor blades is laughable. If they do however here's some things to consider.

1.) Its not forced. They most likely share them with people they consider extremely close friends or relatives. I doubt they would go sharing a blade with Random Indy guy in dark match.

2.) Wrestlers are tested often for diseases transmitted through bodily fluids. I'd say about as often as the porn industry. Only thing is, unlike the porn industry the WWE doesn't allow their workers to go outside and work other promotions. Thus somebody isn't going to be able to go to an Indy event, pick up a disease and bring it back undetected.

Still, I doubt they really do share them. There's really no need.

When someone else's blood is gushing into your mouth like a river, I think it is serious.

You can see them hand it off to eachother in some matches.

The most blatant has to be WMX7 with Austin and Rock.

Where I believe Rock fumbled it TWICE.

I don't think it's "justifiably so" at all...you're endangering the health of your workers in this sort of business. Okay, so you don't blade, but what happens if you bleed hardway? It happens, and then there's HIV+ blood on the premises. Not safe.

Rock and Austin worked with eachother so much that I'm sure they didn't mind. Same as Trips and Michaels. I doubt you'd be seeing Dinsmore blade and then (just for example purposes) Benoit use the same razor.

Even if someone tests negative for AIDS it does not mean anything. Sometimes it can take up to 10 years for the disease to register on the tests, yet one can still give the disease to others during this period. The above reason is why using the same blade is incredibly stupid, then again, these are wrestlers, the collective IQ of the dressing room probably amounts to that of an ice cream cone.

I can say the same about the person who made the above post.

Most of the wrestlers in WWE are college educated, so calling them stupid is the biggest sack of bullshit ever.

Going to college means jack shit, I know tons of people in college who are idiots. Also, I have a 4.0 grade point average, and scored 32 on my ACT test asshole. College has become the new high school, it is way too easy to get in. They should make the tests much harder.

I can't believe I'm about to say this, but lets keep on topic. I'm going to find hard evidence that disproves they share blades(as in using it on oneself and then giving it to another person to use on themself) unless they do it willingly.

Well then what are you complaining about? If they're willing to do so then its all on them. In this day and age nobody is going to share an object with somebody else's bodily fluid on it and use it on themself unless they know the person and trust the person. If they do then its their own fault and it can't be helped.

With that I ended any further discussion on this matter since you said the point was they weren't being forced.

I think if AIDS showed up in a test so would steroids. So that may scare Vince off right there.

This topic raises an interesting point: unlike aporn star, a wrestler can technically wrestle with AIDS. So I don't think you can fire them for just that.
