He passed away yesterday at the age of 76. He was world renowned for his superb work with Coltrane during the early to mid 60's. Their union was responsible for such classic albums as A Love Supreme, Live at Birdland, and Crescent.

And if anyone thinks they recognize the name, he did a guest spot on Our Lady Peace's "Stealing Babies" on the CD "Happiness...". Good stuff. He could still go, even in the later days.
