DMann2003 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2004 This Tuesday saw the release of four new sets in the "Walt Disney Treasures" series- "Mickey Mouse in Living Color, Volume 2", "The Chronological Donald, Volume 1 (1934-1941)" "TomorrowLand, Disney in Space and Beyond" and "On the Front Lines". I picked up the Mickey set and the Front Line set. That one is the real treat. It features all the propoganda, educational and entertainment shorts Disney did during WWII. Of course some of the cartoons are un-PC with gross characatures of Germans and Japanese, but they're presented uncut and i8n historical context. Also included is "Victory through Air Power", Walt's 1943 Animation/Live Action love letter to winning the war with airiel stratagy. I love the whole Walt Disney Treasures series. It's some of the best stuff released on DVD. Anyone else else got the sets? (recent or previous ones).
Jobber of the Week 0 Report post Posted May 20, 2004 Wow, they finally went ahead and released them? Someone want to let me know what they did with the covers? Home Video was supposedly hesitating as long as they could to bring these out, because of the Roy vs Eisner battle.
