thuganomics 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2004 Christian is the next Shawn Michaels. Doesn't anyone see the definite HBK/Diesel set-up we got going here? WWE plans on pushing him. I could definately see it occuring on Smackdown though. Either way, he's not the next champ. And, I'll repeat this again: TRIPLE H WILL NOT GET BACK THE TITLE BEFORE SURVIVOR SERIES. He's leaving to either film his "modern western" and/or Conan the King this summer. There's no chance in hell he's the next champ. I'd put my money on Kane or Y2J. Guest Choken One Report post Posted May 23, 2004 Triple indeed won't be the champion prior to Series at the Earilest...Hell...I wouldn't be shocked to see him do a face turn and win the title at WMXXI in Hollywood. I have a feeling Benoit's reign is getting prolonged since he has clearly kept ratings stable unlike the last champion.
Secret Agent 0 Report post Posted May 23, 2004 If Big Show can go from getting his ass kicked by the Hardy's to the man that Brock Lesnar "couldn't beat" in the span of two weeks, and then actually winning the friggin' belt, I think Christian could at least have a title shot... Maybe not win it, but at least get one.
Guest TheZsaszHorsemen Report post Posted May 23, 2004 HHH, at this point he'd just look like a total idiot if he wasn't the man to dethrone Benoit.

Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted May 23, 2004 If anyone hasn't noticed, I'm always cheering for Kane. I can see something like Kane winning at Bad Blood, and Benoit winning it back on RAW the next week. I seriously think Kane NEEDS to win. Lately he's been booked like shit, and has jobbed on PPV twice in a row, the last to EDGE of all people. He's been in a dead end "feud" with Matt Hardy/Lita, and if things don't change, he's gonna be ruined for good. I still can't believe though it will be SIX YEARS AGO next month when Kane won his first and only World Title. Damn such a long time. He's WAY over-due for this. Kane all the way damn it ! I have no problem with Hunter looking like an idiot. I think he's been doing that enough since December. I'm predicting HHH over Benoit at SS. Edge is the first challenger. Guest Anglesault Report post Posted May 24, 2004 HHH, at this point he'd just look like a total idiot if he wasn't the man to dethrone Benoit. It would only look real bad if they continued the feud after HBK/HHH and Hunter still lost. If they don't go back to it, HHH doesn't look like an idiot. If they do go back to it, he has to win. Guest Brian Report post Posted May 24, 2004 They should have run HHH and Michaels in singles so they could build more time to this Edge feud. I'm not sure whether I want Edge to dethrone him or not. For the same reasons some want to give Kane a win, I see it as to early. He needs to be rebuilt from those losses IMO. And I think the way they've been building the surprisingly good house show matches, their not planning on taking the title. I think he needs someone credible to lose to. Either give it to HHH, or let Michaels cheat to win it, and get it back to Benoit for the Edge feud.
Guest prezben Report post Posted May 24, 2004 And, I'll repeat this again: TRIPLE H WILL NOT GET BACK THE TITLE BEFORE SURVIVOR SERIES. He's leaving to either film his "modern western" and/or Conan the King this summer. There's no chance in hell he's the next champ. I'd put my money on Kane or Y2J. Must say that I agree with that statement there. Also who cares if Triple H looks like an idiot? Doesn't everyone agree that it is about time that Triple H was made to look the fool as opposed to all of his opponents. I am the first to admit that I am one of a very small minority that likes Kevin Nash but at Bad Blood 2003 Triple H managed to kick out of a snake-eyes onto a 2x4 wrapped in barbed-wire, followed by a big boot and all that with a previous Jackknife to keep in mind. My point isn't that Kevin Nash should be champ but rather that Triple H was very much about putting himself over so I don't see a problem with others getting a little back while he gets some work over in Hollywood. His matches are never more than "good" and he never really looks like a superstar out there, just a guy wrestling. As for Benoit/Kane, I saw it at a house show, and it was all pedestrian til they hit the last 5 minutes and did their scripted near-falls and big signature moves. Don't expect anything special. I agree to an extent with that Christian comment. However, I think that a lot of people underestimate just how "good" Christian is. I agree that he isn't, and probably never will, be at the top but I think he is a very consistent and entertaining performer. As the quote states his matches are never more than good but rarely are they medicore. Also on Kane and Benoit, I don't think that is going to be anything exciting. I was rather disappointed that they chose that road to go down. I don't think Kane has a snowball's chance of winning that match, not against Benoit at any rate. They would have been better making it Y2J who had hinted at a want to return to the title scene weeks ago. Sure it is face vs face but every wrestling fan I know would have paid double PPV price to see that match and see who walked away with it. Despite Kane's consistency in the company and his draw power he really is quite limited in the ring and certainly doesn't have a lot of people backing his cause for another world title reign. Guest Man Of 1,004 Modes Report post Posted May 24, 2004 Well, Kane can pull a Big Show, and injure Benoit enough to be a lame-duck champion, but I don't think Kane is either reckless OR the type to stiff people for no reason. Still, KANE NEEDS TO WIN! No one pay attention to me, I'm a Kane fan who's been waiting 6 years for another World Title reign. I just finished making someone a Kane comp of his unmasking until the present, and am a little...tweeked. KANE! BAH GAWD HE SET ME ON FIRE!
iggymcfly 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2004 It's true that Kane's not ready to win the title, but I think he's close enough that with a month and a half of buildup, he should be. The way I'd do it is to have him lose on a Matt Hardy run in at Bad Blood. Then, he could flip out the next week on Raw, and destroy Matt solidly enough that he doesn't appear outside of a hospital bed for at least a month. Then, Kane would get a somewhat cheap win at the July PPV to win the title, and if the feud was built right, Kane and Benoit could blow it off with a gimmick match at Summerslam. With HHH leaving to make his movie, there are actually more fresh options for the title chase right now, as Orton or Batista could step out of his shadow to main event, so given how well Benoit's been doing, I'd cut off Kane's reign at one month, (hey, it's still a lot better than 24 hours), and let Benoit get quick feuds with Benoit and Edge before losing the title to Randy Orton at Survivor Series. Then, we could have an interesting dynamic as Orton would supplant HHH as the leader of Evolution, and seeing how well Orton's been doing lately, the eventual Orton/HHH PPV match might be a really good draw after all. Art Sandusky 0 Report post Posted May 24, 2004 HHH wins the title back at SummerSlam off of a victory over Michaels in the Cell, and has it until Survivor Series where Jericho gets it off of him. At Unforgiven have the first Jericho/HHH encounter end under fishy circumstances, a disqualification or whatever. Just remember that WWE's massive good business periods thus far have come when a face is on top, not a heel.
