OldSchoolWrestling Posted May 24, 2004 Report Posted May 24, 2004 Even against the great Jay Schoeder????
Guest MikeSC Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 ^^ Heck, I couldn't remember which bomb was their QB --- Schroeder or Marinovich. -=Mike
Guest Crazy Dan Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 One injury I could remember was a Monday Night Football game. Lawarence Phillips blows his blocking assignment, and Steve Young gets smeared. Concussion City, and that was it for the future Hall of Famer. The Niners were undefeated at the time, or something like 3-1, and with that injury, the Niners won one more game the rest of the season, and Lawarence Phillips gets cut and has only been heard of in the new when he is dragging his girlfriend down the stairs by the hair.
Ripper Posted May 25, 2004 Report Posted May 25, 2004 David Robinson in 1996...although they *did* get Tim Duncan out of it. And I got to see the brilliance of Dominique Wilkins one last time. What did he put up, 24 a game that year?
Guest Redhawk Posted May 26, 2004 Report Posted May 26, 2004 I'm not sure how much it affected the Steelers, but Rod Woodson tearing his ACL in Week 1 couldn't have helped them.
Your Paragon of Virtue Posted May 27, 2004 Report Posted May 27, 2004 The Sabres? The world of "sharp" puns is expanding before me. Theismann's leg was pretty ill, but we didn't see the actual piece-by-piece disassembly of a man's leg like with McGahee's. The crooked limb on the turf afterwards, and LT's reaction makes that one worse overall, but for one single disgusting hit, McGahee's knee still makes me cringe..that had to hurt so fuckin' bad.. I don't know any of their names, but I've seen a couple baseball players slide funny, and end up with mangled legs. How did LT react afterwards? I've heard about this, but it's too far before my time for me to have seen it. Vick stands out for me. Once he went down, the Atlanta Falcons went down. Period.
