Guest MikeSC Report post Posted May 27, 2004 OK, just to spark a little discussion, I'll ask this: What good is the Federal Election Commission? Honestly, are they even needed? Consider a hypothetical (and, yes, this is an actual hypothetical, not a veiled attack on Clinton's '96 campaign): Let's say a candidate violates every election law we have and wins an election. What can the FEC do about it? I have little reason to expect them to OVERRIDE the election result. They won't be able to easily press criminal charges. Fines are immaterial, honestly.
